“I love the bold clean patterns in this collection! They work so well with graphic layout designs and can be used for so much more than Halloween layouts! For my layout though, I chose to highlight Raven by scrapping a picture of my son from last years Fall Festival at his school. It is always such a fun event and the elements in the collection help to emphasize that!”

“Hello October” Supply List:

“I decided to make another Halloween mini-album! This one is definitely bigger than my matchbook album from last week, but it’s still compact enough to slip in an envelope for a cute snail mail surprise.  Inside the album are four pockets housing journal cards and die cuts with spaces for photos.  The front of the pockets are embellished and I also decided to clip extra die cuts to the backside of each.  Basically, I wanted to make the album finished enough to slip pictures in and call it done, but I also wanted to leave some room to get crafty and/or add additional pages.”

“Merry Halloween Mini” Supply List:
Glitz Design “Raven” full digital kit
Other: Lori Whitlock “Pocket Mini Album” cutting file, Freckled Fawn “Wide Floral Washi” paper tape, Pebbles “From Me to You” mini envelopes

Raven-MikiKrueger
“I love how versatile the Raven Full Kit is, not just for Halloween! Perfect for a “little Dude!” For the title I used the font Impact, alternating capitals and lower case letters. I then rasterized (CS4 or simplify in elements) the font and clipped a piece of paper from the kit to the word dude. I then created an outline behind the letters by using the modify tool (expand 10 px) and filled it in with white on a separate layer under the word and added a shadow.”

“I love the Raven 6×6 paper pad and the chalkboard notecard set from Prima Marketing.  I thought they went well together so I decided to create a little mini album to document our Halloween from 2012.  I started by trimming down a few of the papers from the paper pad, as well as a few older book pages.  I used the Raven Bits and Pieces, Raven Title & Accent stickers, Prima chalk flowers and Prima wood veneer pieces throughout the album as embellishments.  I love the little album and my two kids just love seeing their Halloween pictures from last year!!”

“As soon as I saw the beautiful orange tulle flowers from Prima Marketing I knew I wanted to make a headband for my daughter.  It was so simple and fun to make and it looks just precious on her!  I started by using my hot glue gun to glue together a chalk flower and the orange tulle flower.  The tulle flower is a little flimsy on it’s own so I needed something to help it stand up on the headband.  Then I simply hot glued the flowers onto the headband.  Easy peasy, and oh so cute, huh??”

Headband Supply List:
Prima chalk flowers
Prima tulle flowers
Black headband purchased from the dollar store

“Every year I create special Halloween treat bags for a few friends of my kids. The Raven collection from Glitz Design seemed to be the perfect choice this year. I didn’t even have to cut up whole sheets, I just used the scraps from other projects. Some Raven stickers to spell out ‘Halloween Treats’, ‘Halloween Candy’, etc. along with the cute Giant Rhinestones paired with Prima ribbons, bark stars, frames, flowers, and some splatters of paint made the treat bag toppers just as fun as the treats inside.”

“Who says Halloween supplies have to be confined to use one day a year? Pulling out the neutrals from the Glitz Designs “Raven” line and pairing them with neutral embellishments from Prima you have a palette that works for any season. The resin feather and triangles subtly bring in a couple of current trends.”

“Halloween has always been a family affair with fairytale flair for us. Last year, we kept the tradition with Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Mixing up the softness of tulle and vellum with the geometric “Raven” elements keeps with the unexpected fun of our real life fairytale. I haven’t taken the plunge into Project Life, so I use Glitz “Bits & Pieces” on layouts to add a little spice. They say variety is the spice of life, here’s to a baby step toward spicy living. ”

“I used Photoshop Elements, I made the size of my new project 5.5 x 8inches that way I can arrange all my layers how they will be once the card is assembled in real life, once all layers are how I like I separate the layers so I can then print them off, next I cut all pieces up and put together on a card. Add a few jewels and ribbon to make pretty, and it all ready to send out into the mail.”

“To create this Halloween card I used the 6″ Raven Paper pad. After cutting I layered a piece of white cardstock and two of the Raven papers together. To get a more dimensional look I add some 3D pads between all the single layers. The owl and arrow stamps are my favorites of the Raven stamp set. I used them with golden embossing powder. To finish the card I sew around the black and white frame and add some twine….”

“We love celebrating Halloween by dressing up, having a pot luck dinner with friends and then going trick or treating. It’s a perfect time for the neighborhood to come alive and get outside together. Today I want to share a page with my son and his friend heading out to trick or treat last year on Halloween. I love all the designs in this collection, is dark and funny at the same time and even joyful. Inspired by cobwebs and crows, and wonderful Giant Rhinestones I created a layered projects. I printed 3 little pictures and played with two pattern papers from the Raven collection and with some stickers! The tree trunk is embellished with some accents like brads, stickers and buttons.

“I’m loving the neon greens of Finnley alongside the soft pinks of Love You Madly on a grey woodgrain background from Raven. While usually you don’t expect a Halloween collection to work well with a baby or love or masculine collections, Raven worked great for me with Finnley, Love You Madly, and Dapper Dan collections! A few black and white giant rhinestones from the Wild & Free collection were just the touches I needed to bring my layout together.”

Supply List:
Glitz Design “Raven” 12 x 12 paper Lines

Glitz Design “Love You Madly” 6 x 6 paper pad

“I extracted the photo of my niece and put it in a way looking like it’s perched on layers of flowers and bead vines. I placed a big strip of paper and slightly warped the shadow for a bit of effect. I also used a template with doily design for that added girly touch.”

“For this week’s color challenge, I chose a background paper that had big sections of both green & pink. Then I layered under my photos with a few neutral black and white papers and then finished off the page with a neutral black and white frame. Just to add a bit more pink + green, I used alpha stickers in those colors.”

“For my page I used the background white cardstock in combination with the “Floral” paper. I added some Gesso on it to make sure that the paper didn’t soak up all the watercolor.

The triangles are painted free hand (without any measuring) by myself. I painted them again with watercolor and add them with the sewing machine onto the paper. I finished the page by adding the title plus journaling, some word stickers and these beautiful Giant Rhinestones.”

Supply List:

“When I’m working on a digital layout, I spend a lot of my time, tweaking my settings to add realism and simulate the look of paper.  But really, I love digital scrapbooking because of all the layout possibilities I can’t achieve with paper.  For this Project Life page, I played with blending modes in order to include word art and journaling on a very image heavy layout.  One technique I use over and over again is to highlight text with a basic shape, like a circle, square, or triangle.  Then, I’ll change the blending mode of the shape so that the background peeks through a bit.  I suggest just scrolling through the list to see what looks best–super easy and really effective!”

“These are photographs of my son and his girlfriend. So sweet to see their young love grow! I loved all the journaling cards that I could use on this layout. Just cut the arrow journaling card to a different shape was the perfect touch! And how easy when the Today journaling card says it all! After I completed the layout I felt it needed something else, so I added the brush marks on the sides of the layout and besides the cluster in the center of the layout.”

“I really love this blurred photo of my daughter jumping.  It shows movement and her excitement of the moment.  To me, it screamed “wild and free.”  So naturally, I would use Wild and Free collection to scrap this photo.  One of my favorite things to do with the paper pieces in the Wild and Free Element 1 kit is to reduce the opacity so that it looks like a printed vellum piece. ”
