Gorgeous Girly Cards with Teresa Kline

Hi friends, I hope you are having a great summer, you know it will be over before we know it; so make the most of it!  I am sharing with you today a couple of girly cards, teehehehe..I can’t help myself.

I have used the Glitz Pretty In Pink Collection for this card.  I adore the Pretty In Pink collection, so much glam!  Just my style.  I have used a chipboard die cut for the main focus, gorgeous and quick and easy.  I used the teeny alpha letters to make the sweet little tag.  A super simple card using so many of the Glitz options.

Supplies Used:
Glitz Design Paper:  Pretty In Pink
Glitz Design Card Stock Stickers:  Prett In Pink Titles
Glitz Design Teeny Alpha:  Pink Woodgrain

My next card was fun to design, when I saw the crown in the French Kiss stamp set I knew I wanted to add wings to it.  I stamped the crown on vanilla card stock, cut it out, and then added these sweet glittery wings I had in my stash.  I adore Glitz designer paper, so I wanted to use as many as I could in my card.  I decided on vertical panels of the Glitz patterned paper, distressed of course to give it the shabby look.

I stamped out the sentiment also from the French Kiss stamp set, cut it out and sponged around it to give more depth.  I added ruffled ribbon, with bakers twine, and finished it with a sweet Pretty In Pink giant rhinestones.

Supplies Used:
Glitz Design Paper:  Pretty In Pink
Glitz Design French Kiss:  Clear Stamps
Glitz Design Pretty In Pink:  Giant Rhinestones

I am thrilled you stopped by to check out my Glitz card creations!

Have a wonderful day, be sure to sprinkle it with a little Glitz!

Summer Time Savers with Jolaine Frias

Hello everyone!  I know we’re all heard of ‘the lazy days of summer’ but if you’re anything like me, these are the days when we are doing soooo many things to keed our kids entertained and catch up with chores in the house as well as the outdoors.
So today, I have quick and easy page that can be done under one hour, that’s right, under one hour!!
It normally takes me a couple of days and a total of about four hours to do a page so I wanted to share with you my shortcuts to get your craft on even when time is short.

Here’s how I saved time:

  • Since the papers are already distressed, I skipped inking the edges.
  • I also like to use border punches on my pages but lining up the punched designs takes too long so I opted to punch only the corners on my background paper.
  • I also saved time by using a 4×6 photo which is bigger than the 3.5×5 that I normally prefer but the bigger photo needs less embellishing and layering to make your page look ‘finished’
  • Stick to a single paper collection so that all the papers coordinate without having to think too much about it. Here you can see that the papers in the French Kiss collection work very nicely together.
  • Add detail with a doily! Doilies are already very intricate and they don’t need anything done to them!

That’s all from me today! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find my tips helpful to save some time and still get creative!

Hugs,
Jolaine

Boat Rides & Smores with Audrey Yeager

I was so inspired by this month’s blog challenge that both of my layouts are based on summer events!  What’s more summery than going for boat rides and eating S’mores??

I am still on my triangle kick (like last month’s post!) and was playing around with some random pieces I had cut from some papers.  I wanted to work with a specific color combo and I just started laying them down.  It took a few tweeks and snips of the scissors here and there to get some of them to line up, but I really like how this came out.

I also stamped with some inks and a stencil to create a little starburst pattern, and used a large Peek-A-Boo for my title.

My next page was inspired by S’mores!  I chose brown and beige colored papers to represent the chocolate and graham crackers, and I knew I wanted to use a lot of white paint to be the sticky marshmallows.

I thought my page needed a bit more color, and while browsing through my Glitz papers scrap pile, I came across this yellow paper that I used some cut some doilies on a previous page (I has used the paper pattern on the other side, though).
For my title, I wrote the word “S’mores” on some brown paper and just cut it out with my scissors!  A simple, easy way to do your titles!

Hope you are enjoying all of your fun summer activities!  Can’t wait to see your pages this month!

Every Day…Enjoy the Ride

Using Whatnots with Laurie Schmidlin

Hi friends!  I love it when it’s my turn to share some Glitz projects with you!  Both of my cards features one of my favorite Glitz products…Whatnot!  I have to admit, as a stamper I was a little intimidated by these at first.  I have always thought them to be absolutely beautiful, but just wasn’t sure how to use them on my cards.  Once I started using them I was hooked!  I couldn’t believe how quickly I could create gorgeous, intricate looking cards!

GD Lovely

My first card features product from the classy French Kiss collection.  I started by cutting out some hexagon shapes (I used my Silhouette Cameo) to create my background layer.  I then spritzed some Antique Gold spray.  I also brushed on some ivory acrylic paint to most of the layers.  Once I adhered the Whatnot, I added a Glitzer, Layered Cardstock Sticker, ribbon, flowers, and rhinestones.

GD Reserved

For my next card, I used product from both the Pretty in Pink and Beautiful Dreamer Collections.  Again, I used a Whatnot (I actually used two different ones here) and Layered Cardstock Sticker for my focal images.  I just added some assorted embellishments to finish the card.

Thanks so much for joining me here today!  ~Laurie

Digital Hybrid Cards with Kristii Lockart

Good morning sweet friends!!  I’ve been having lots of fun with Glitz Design Digital Goodies and today I have a fun little journal and card gift set to share with you! Both projects feature the ledger paper from the Pretty in Pink Digital Paper Pack.  I think the ledger paper is my favorite out of all the papers in the Winter Lines.   You will find the sweet little bird cage in the French Kiss Digital Element Pack.  I added a little more pink to the birdcage using Photoshop Elements so that it would match the Pretty Ink Pink paper.  I printed out the birdcage three times and fussy cut one of the images.  I fussy cut the flowers from the second image to add a layer giving the image a little dimension.  The third image was die cut using Papertrey Ink’s Hexagon Cover plate to add some floral embellishments to the hexagon pattern.

I used the Pretty In Pink 6×6 paper pad to cut some more hexagons, inked them and then adhered the pieces to the base of the card.  I resized the Pretty In Pink Title element and made it a little smaller so I could die cut a Double Ended Banner for the sentiment.

The journal adds Pretty In Pink Digital Elements Flowers and Frame 3 to the pretty pink background.  I enlarged the birdcage and printed it twice.  I fussy cut the bird cage from one and the flowers from the other.
I typed the quote, “I feel like a tiny bird, with a great big song”,  on Word using the KG Strawberry Limeade font.  I inked the edges and hand cut the banner ends.  I added some seam binding ribbon and hand made flowers to embellish.

Supplies Used:
Glitz Design Pretty In Pink 6×6 Paper Pad
Glitz Design Digital Pretty In Pink Papers:   Ledger
Glitz Design Digital Pretty In Pink Elements:  Frame 3 and Flowers
Glitz Design Digital French Kiss Elements:  Whatnots 4

Thanks for stopping by!!!
I wish you a very Glitzy Day!!

I love this pictures and felt that the Afternoon Muse would be perfect! I think the yellows and pinks really set off the pictures in a nice way without making the layout look too feminine.

Summery Shaped Cards with Laurie Schmidlin

Hi!  It’s Summer (even in Montana :-) and I am loving the warm, sunny days!  When I saw this month’s Glitz Blog Challenge (see image below) was all about Summer, I couldn’t wait to start creating!

My two cards embody two things that I automatically envision when I think of Summer – watermelon and ice cream!

GD Happiness

Nothing says summer like a big slice of ripe watermelon!  Mmmm!  I created this shaped card with my electronic cutting machine and several different Glitz patterned papers.  Before I glued it all together, I added some chunky glitter around the pink layer.  To finish the card off, I added an Epoxy Sticker, lace, ribbon, and a Giant Rhinestone!

GD Sweet Birthday Wishes

For my second card, I started with an ice cream cone shaped card (also made with my electronic cutting machine) and papers from the Afternoon Muse collection.  I layered on a Cardstock Sticker, a Whatnot, an Epoxy Word, a cut out stamped image (the banner tails), a flower, and lots of buttons and sparkle!

Here’s all the info on this month’s challenge!  I hope you give it a try!  :-)
