You Anchor My Heart with Leah Farquharson

Yes, it’s my very first layout for Glitz Designs! I am absolutely loving working with their products! ^_^

I got a little silly with inks and stamps for this one – and loved it. I used the frame stamps on transparency and then cut them out to layer underneath my photos. The heart is stamped with the music background stamp, and the grid is layered underneath.

This is such a sweet memory! We’re cutting our cake at our little family anniversary celebration. I really can’t believe it’s been so many years already!

Here are a few detail shots:

Raising the photos up on foam adhesive dots was a great way to give a little more dimension to the project – especially since I had other items on the page that stood out more – I didn’t want the embellishments to steal the spotlight!

Have a fabulous, creative day!

Ribbon & Friends with Kay Sibley

Hi everyone!  I’m SO excited about today’s post because I finally get to show you my Glitz Design debut cards!  I still can’t believe I was asked to be on the Design Team and I’m truly, truly grateful!

I decided to make two different style cards.  The first is vintage and the other is what I call “sassy”.  But, of course, I HAD to put ribbon and bows on both!  tee hee!

For my vintage style card, I used a Glitz Design Vintage Love Whatnot.  There are beautiful image and journaling cards in this set and I love the one with the children playing!

And here is my “sassy” card.  Don’t you love that flower sticker?!  It’s a Kismet Glitzers Sticker that I placed on cardstock and simply cut around it and adhered with dimensional adhesive.  Glitzers stickers are transparent and already have bling on them.  So fabulous!

Thank you for visiting today.  I hope you enjoyed my Glitz Design creations.

Have a MOST wonderful day!

Key To My Heart with Noel Culbertson

key to my heart {glitz}
I spend a lot of time reflecting on the overwhelming blessings in my life. It helps me keep perspective on the days that don’t always feel like they’re overflowing with goodness. It’s one of the reasons I love scrapbooking, it gives me another outlet of counting my blessings, and puts them down on paper to flip through again and again.
But I’m not going to lie to you here… one of the things I love about working here and there in the industry are the boxes of goodies that arrive at my door from time to time. The very best box that graced my doorstep last week was, of course, my box of Glitz goodness! Aside from loving the fabulous products that Glitz produces, I love the people that make Glitz possible.
That leads me to another scrapbook life blessing: The people of scrapbooking. It truly is a beautiful thing to work in an industry focused on family, memories, blessings and getting them on paper. Laura, Ginger and Erin {the Glitz Girls} are among my favorite scrappy people of all time. I’ve logged many a hour web-camming with Laura giggling ourselves silly. I’m a lucky girl!

Vintage Love Mirror with Tammy Tutterow

One of my favorite things to do in papercrafting is to take something not so pretty and give it new life using scrapbook products. I have had this ugly mirror in my stash for a while just waiting for the perfect paper to come along. When I first saw Glitz’s Vintage Love collection, I knew I had found the right paper for this mirror!

I began by covering the mirror with Stripe from the collection. I added Tim Holtz Brown Corduroy distress ink to the edges and then stamped with the ink on the mirror randomly using the script stamp from the Distressing Stamp Set.

I accented the mirror with the heart diecut shape from the Vintage Image Whatnots and a few random pink Frosting stones.

For additional accents, I created canvas flowers from assorted papers from the collection as well as a few scraps from the Vintage Love Paper Layers set combined with Claudine Hellmuth Studio Sticky Back Canvas. (You can see Claudine demonstrate this technique in this video on You Tube.)

Because the paper from the Paper Layers collection is very thin, I had a slight bit of residual stickiness after finishing the transfer. To remedy that, I dusted those flowers lightly with white Perfect Pearls which gave them a nice subtle sparkle.

To finish off the flowers and give them a bit of a worn and vintage feel, I frayed them slightly and brushed a bit of distress ink onto the edges.

4 Ever Friends with Jeni Boisvert

I simply *love* unexpected color combo’s, and using color in a way I normally wouldn’t.  For this layout I mixed a bit of Vintage Love with the Maya Collection from Glitz.  Brown and Pink together are yummy but the pop of green was really fun!

I used a bit of Shimmerz Blingz in Flashee Fushia to change the color of the little girls shirt on the Vintage Love Ephemra from orange to pink.  :)

Pattern Paper: Vintage Love Polka #VL2853, Maya Patchwork #M2303, Maya Damask #M2280

Embellishments: Maya Journaling Cardstock Stickers #C2464, Maya Accents #C2495, and Vintage Whatnots #V2679

Throw some of the “unexpected”  into your next project and just see what you come up with!  Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a very Glitzy Day!!!!  ((hugs)) Jeni
