NYC Layouts with Lisa Andrews

Last month I was lucky enough to spend some time with my family in New York City. We had such a great time.

While we were there, we made it to a point to visit as many different places for treats as we could. We found some really great places and have a few more on our list to try next time.

The first layout I want to share today shows a few of the treat places we visited in NYC.
Just looking at those photos make me want to pack my bags and head back for more!

While we we visiting NYC, we drove over to Boston for a few days. It was so fun to see all of the fall colors.

Since we don’t get to see leaves changing colors near our house in Arizona, it was a real treat to get to see them on our trip!

Hope you have had a chance to play with some of the new Glitz lines!

Attitude of Gratitude with Leah Farquharson

I recently received a package of their latest lines, and can I just say… I kept going from one thing to another… It all works together so fabulously that I wanted to use it ALL.

But I didn’t. I just used some of it to put together these two layouts. :)

With all the talk this year about having an “attitude of gratitude” in the month of November {sort of like an advent idea, but Thanksgiving themed}, it really got me thinking. I want to live a life of gratitude. I live in one of the wealthiest nations in the world. I never go to bed at night hungry {except by my choosing! lol}, or want for shelter, or suffer oppression for having my own opinion. I have a family that loves me, and clean drinking water. I can worship freely without any oppression. I have access to medical and dental care. There is nothing that I need that I can’t get. Nothing. I don’t need designer clothes and bags. Fancy cars or shoes. Trips all over the globe. {though they might be nice!} I want to remember that I have what I need. And I should be grateful. All year round.
Supply List:
Glitz Designs “Scarlett” Papers: Polka, Map, Stripe
Glitz Designs “Scarlett” Glitzer stickers
Glitz Designs Love Nest Peek-A-Boo
Glitz Designs “Scarlett” Journaling Cardstock Stickers
Glitz Designs “Love Nest” Rubons
Glitz Designs Teeny Alpha Round
Other:
Trims: Wester’s Pages, May Arts, Madori
Foam Letters: American Crafts

And how could I resist the birthday photos when the new “Hoopla” line is so perfect for scrapping them? I had actually run across these photos the other day while looking for something else and was thinking that I needed to find some way to scrapbook them, since they’re so irresistible.

One quick trick: instead of peeling the “celebrate” letter off – I decided to keep them on the sheet! The white background worked in perfectly with what I was doing and I didn’t have to worry about placing the letters evenly.

Supplies:
Glitz Designs “Love Nest” paper: Stripe
Glitz Designs “Hoopla” Papers: Pipework, Polka and Frames
Glitz Designs “Hoopla” Cardstock Titles, Glitzers, Rubons
Glitz Designs Teeny Alpha Aqua
Glitz Designs Frosting Giant Pink, Black, Green
Glitz Designs Stamps: Distressing Set 3
Other:
Tim Holz Distress Ink from Ranger in Pumace

Have a fabulous day!

Hoopla Box & Card set with Tammy Tutterow

A few days after Halloween I happened to stop in Hobby Lobby for a couple of quick supplies.  If you know me, you know how I love their decor clearance.  I found this super cute wooden gift box for just $2.00.  I knew it would be super cute recovered, at at such a cheap price, it was too good to pass up.
Gift1
I recovered the bottom part of the box with the green side of Frames patterened paper from the Hoopla collection by Glitz Design.  I covered the box lid with the blue side of the same paper.  I created a coordinating card from the Frame and Zebra patterned papers.  All of the edges of the box and card are inked with Black Soot Distress Ink.
Gift2
The top of the box is embellished with a Hoopla Peek-a-Boo.
Gift3
The lid is embellished with black and blue Tulle.
Gift4
I added Crystal Stickles to the top of the clear piece over the printed letters.
Gift5
I sanded the edges on the underneath side of the Peek-a-Boo lightly and then brushed them with Black Soot Distress Ink.
Gift6
I also added Crystal Stickles to the box sides to accent the pattern on the paper.
Gift7
I stamped the 3×3 Hoopla clear stamp on the white side of a scrap piece of Zebra patterned paper.  I added color to the design with Copic Markers and added more sparkle with Crystal Stickles.
Gift8
I cut the stamped design out and adhered it to my card from with adhesive foam squares.
Gift9
For the inside of the card, I stamped the edges of a piece of Zebra patterned paper with the edges of different clear stamps from the Fancy Frames set.  I stamped and inked the edges in Black Soot Distress Ink.

Love Nest Happiness with Christine Penaflor

Good morning! I hope this day has begun with beautiful weather and an abundance of blessings your way!
I am so excited to be able to share the projects that I created with the new Glitz Design Love Nest collection. When I first saw the papers, stickers, and embellishments from this collection, I nearly fainted! I simply adore this collection, and I hope you’ll agree with me after I show you what I created…

YouMakeMeHappy1

For this first card, I used the following products:

  • Glitz Design “Love Nest” Paper:  Sky
  • Glitz Design “Love Nest”  Titles Cardstock Stickers
  • Other: Bazzill cardstock, Prima flower, rhinestones, laces, ribbon

I rarely make tall or long cards so I decided to make a couple that would fit into a regular business sized envelope. I started with a brown cardstock base then I cut a piece of Glitz Design Love Nest Paper in the Sky pattern. I adhered an aqua colored ribbon down the middle of the patterned paper and then stitched along the edges to create a border. I adhered a piece of white lace on top of the aqua ribbon and attached this to the card front.

YouMakeMeHappy2

Next, I adhered a piece of cream lace along the bottom of the patterned paper and adhered the bottom part of the aqua ribbon over the lace. The sentiment sticker from the Love Nest Titles set was adhered on top of the lace and the card was embellished with a flower and rhinestones as shown to complete it.

BeYourself1

The card above was created using the following products:

  • Glitz Design “Love Nest” Papers:  Sky, Polka
  • Glitz Design “Love Nest”  Titles Cardstock Stickers, Whatnot card
  • Other: Bazzill cardstock, Nestabilities die, rhinestones, lace, Prima die cut felt, Martha Stewart border punch, Shimmerz paint

This time I chose to make a long horizontal card by starting with a dark red cardstock base. A piece of Glitz Design Love Nest paper in the Polka pattern was stitched along the border. Next, I punched a border from brown cardstock and adhered it to the bottom edge of the patterned paper. I adhered a length of lace on the paper a shown and then adhered this to the card front.

BeYourself2

A small  piece of Glitz Design Love Nest Sky paper was stitched along the border, the edges were distressed, and then adhered to the card front. On top of that paper, I adhered a small calendar card from the Love Nest Whatnot card set using foam adhesive for dimension. Next, I layered a piece of die cut felt on top of the calendar card. I die cut a piece of Sky patterned paper, painted it with Shimmerz Tickle Me Turquoise paint, and then adhered the sentiment sticker from the Love Nest Titles set on top of the die cut. Finally the rhinestones were added to the card as the finishing touch.
I hope you enjoyed seeing a bit of the Love Nest collection in these projects! May you be inspired to created with this lovely collection some time soon!
Blessings,
Christine

Making Time with Tracie Hudson

Like many other Scrapbookers out there, I am a Wife and a Mother and sometimes, thankfully not very often……just sometimes, everyday life gets a little hairy.
Our days as Moms can be filled with many things – caring for our children and partners, working, cleaning house as well as taking responsibility for the transportation needs of the entire household – including the family dog!!!
As a busy Mom I’m very aware how important it is to indulge in a little “ME” time and to remind myself of this, I have a sign hanging in my scrapping space which says –

“Make time, for Play time”.

With my available scrapping time being very limited at the moment, I snatched an hour or two to squeeze in a much needed crafting session, where I created this simple page by combining a sketch from Pencil Lines and my favourite Hoopla papers and product from Glitz Designs.

I stamped the fancy frames on to acetate using Stazon, and then cut them out before adding the photographs using 3d foam pads.

Using up the scraps of papers from the layout and a Tim Holtz Sizzix die I made this greetings card for a couple of friends who are celebrating a very special occasion in their lives.

Product used:
Glitz Design Hoopla Polka, Zebra,Cake and Floral
Glitz Designs Fancy Frames Clear Stamps
Glitz Designs Glitzers
Glitz Designs Frosting

How do you ensure you make time for your play time?
I’d love to know.

Thanks for dropping by.
