Beautiful & Sweet Layouts with Sasha Halloway

Well hello everyone it has been a minute and hope you guys are great. I am so excited to have my hands on the new collection. In person they are really bold and soft all in the same sentence. Today I am going to show you layouts from both Hoopla and Scarlett.
Products Used
Scarlett Polka S2044 (front/back)
Scarlett Wallpaper S2099 (butterflies)
Love Nest Stickers C2181 (beautiful)
Here is a close-up I used some stitching and tore the pages a little bit for the worn affect to it. I also cut out the flower and placed them on some black pop dots so that it did not look flat on the page. Just some dimension.
Beautiful collage
Next up we have Sweets all Hoopla loving here folks. I really love the colors in this line. It is a bit more soft but they all flow together and the splash of black just really makes it all come together.

image from sassysasha.typepad.comI think I have fallin in love with creating again because I LOVE the Hoopla collection and this layout. If you wanna know what little secret I added to make it look a bit finished. Well I love adding washi-tape to the edge of my layouts and so I added a print pattern of the washi-tape to the edges to finish the look of the layout.

Well I hope you have been inspired and that your new year is kicking off great with the Glitz Family.

Fabulous Scarlett cards with Iwona Palamountain

Hello crafty peeps, and welcome to my second Glitz post! I’ve been having so much fun with these fabulous products, I hope you’ll also like what you see :)

For my first card, I cut into my favourite paper in the Scarlett collection. I love these saturated colours! The mix of rich greens and yellows speaks fun and laughter to me, and therefore I thought that with a little help of stickers & rub ons from the Hoopla line, they would make a terrific birthday card.

Glitz Design “Scarlett” Paper: Polka
Glitz Design “Hoopla Titles” Cardstock Stickers
Glitz Design “Hoopla” Rub Ons
Glitz Design “Yellow Block” Teeny Alpha

Other: cardstock: recycled kraft, American Crafts; sewing machine, buttons, string

…and another card, with some yummy Map paper, also from the Scarlett collection… am I the only one crazy about map prints here?? :)
I trimmed the sentiment sticker to suit my label. None of my Nesties had a suitable shape, so I used scissors and oval stencil, and masked any imperfections with ink.

Glitz Design “Scarlett” Paper: Map
Glitz Design “Love Nest Titles” Cardstock Stickers

Other: cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Aqua Mist); label: Collections; ink: Papertrey Ink (Chai); string

Thank you for looking!

Embellished Envelopes & Treat Bags with Melissa Phillips

As January starts rolling in, my mind immediately and excitedly makes the switch to Valentine’s Day…I don’t think there is a holiday I enjoy more than this one as it is a wonderful excuse to spoil others with heartfelt and handmade gifts…all in the name of love.

Today I have a couple of projects to share with you that can be done very easily and adapted to your own personal taste…for me, I love nothing more than the shabby, vintage, timeless, aged, and weathered products out there and Glitz has some beautiful things available.

This first project is simply three glassine bags folded together head to toe and then secured along the fold, creating a  triple pocket.  The pockets hold embellished envelopes waiting for love notes…how sweet!

Embellishing envelopes is another fave of mine as it gives me an excuse to pull out all of the things I love, stamps, trims, buttons, stickers, rubons, paper, etc…no holding back, I say make your envelopes just as beautiful as what you’ll find inside.

This project creates a beautiful place for treasured memories, photos, ephemera, and last of all, love notes.

Next up is another quick project using left over paper scraps from the above project to dress up Valentine sweets….all packaged in clear cellophane bags and embellished with juicy sticker frames, Block Alphas, and Giant Rhinestones….a sweet treat to pack in a lunchbox, briefcase, or set near a computer for your coworker.

Using Glitz Title Cardstock Stickers with Carla Peicheff

Good Morning ladies! How’s everyone doing? Enjoying your January so far? Today I have a couple cards to show you using more of my Glitz Design goodies! I can’t seem to get enough of the Love Nest & Hoopla lines… they are definitely my faves! And all the extra goodies that go with the lines from the bling to the titles are awesome!

Let’s start with a birthday card I made with the Hoopla collection…

  • Glitz Design Hoopla Collection Papers – Zebra, Pipework, Frames, & Cake.
  • Glitz Design Hoopla Titles
  • Glitz Design Frosting in Red & Black

Now onto a love-themed card… the Love Nest papers are sooo soft & feminine! Perfect for this type of card…

  • Glitz Design Love Nest Collection Papers – Strips & Block
  • Glitz Design Love Nest Titles
  • Glitz Design Giant Rhinestones in Clear, Red, & Aqua.

And can I just say how awesome these ‘Title’ stickers are! I had to peel & restick these 3 times to get them in the right place and they still stuck perfectly and didn’t tear the paper! Gotta love that! lol!

Well i’m off for now ladies, enjoy your day & thanks for stopping by! :)

Fabulous Sketches with Noel Culbertson

I love Post-it notes for sketching layout ideas. I keep them near my phone, my bed and my computer. However, my Post-its tend to end up scattered all over the house. A few days ago I decided to “digitalize” a few of these Post-it bound sketches in Photoshop to keep them in a central location. Since I went to all of that work (really, it’s not much work at all) of making a clean sketch in Photoshop, I thought I’d share a couple of the sketches with their completed Glitz layouts here. Make a layout using Glitz products and one of these two sketches, link me up to the photo in the comments section by January 24th and you’ll be entered to win a Glitz goodie pack!  **Glitz Note: Please be sure to link your project using these fabulous sketches at Noel’s Blog, as she is the one hosting the giveaway!!  Thanks!!**

TGIF Cards with Michelle Philippi

I just love Fridays – but this is no ordinary Friday y’all, for today marks my very first post on the Glitz Design blog. Can I get a woo-hoo?! I am overjoyed and completely humbled to be a part of the team this year and am just giddy and so excited that I get to share my fabby fun Glitzy creations with you all.

As I was going through all my Glitz goodies I could not decide what I wanted to play with first. I was like Demi Moore in Indecent Proposal with all the money – remember that scene? – that was me with all my amazing Glitz patterned paper. I settled on the Hoopla collection because it really mirrored how I felt – bright and fun and cheery.

A fun wedding card featuring Glitzer Stickers from the Hoopla collection. These stickers are the bomb and oh-so-easy to work with.

And a fun birthday card featuring Hoopla Titles cardstock stickers and some super fun pom pom trim.

Cheers! – the weekend is here.

Always Remember to Dream with Mou Saha

Happy New Year friends, Mou Saha here :)
Do you love to find patterns in papers that you can cut out to make a big embellishment? I do! I also love black and white photos. So, I combined my love for both in the layout “Always Remember to Dream”.

I cut out a section of the black and white floral patterned paper and nestled my also black & white photo into it. To dress up the cut out, I applied glitter glue to some of the petals and let dry. Once it was dry, I gently curled the petals of some of the flowers.

I added giant pink rhinestones to create the flower centers.

To create the title, I cut out a sticker to suit my page.

To finish the page, I journaled around the photo.

Now, if you don’t have a girl to scrap about in your life or if you don’t like to scrap boy photos with flowers, here’s something that’s more masculine, more streamlined and more energetic.

I did a simple clean grid design. I stamped onto patterned paper with musical notes, hounds tooth and book print stamps, punched them out with square punches and arranged them as shown. To add a little color, I stitched them down with embroidery floss.

Added a giant black rhinestone

Added a message using the mini alphabet stickers

Added title and journaling to finish.

Thanks and have fun!

Glitzy stamped cards with Laurie Schmidlin

Good morning!  I am so excited to be sharing a couple of my first Glitz Design cards!

I have this “thing” (well, more like an addiction) for beautiful paper. Patterned paper (especially vintage) makes my heart beat a little faster.  I would actually wallpaper our house with it if I thought my DH would let me get away with it!  Teehehee!  So, you can imagine my utter delight when I first laid eyes on Glitz Design paper!

After seeing the bright, fun, yet slightly vintage Hoopla collection, I tore right into it and made this birthday card for my daughter…
GD Hoopla BirthdayWM
I wanted the Hoopla Cake stamp to stand out a bit more, so I added a vellum layer to soften the patterned paper a bit.
GD Hoopla BirthdayWM - Closeup1
My favorite thing about rub-ons is that you can add them over different layers without missing a word!  :-)
GD Hoopla BirthdayWM - Closeup2
In this close-up, you can see the dimension I gave the cake (with the Circle Flourish frame and colorful rub-on flourish peeking out behind it).  Just for fun, I added some white Liquid Pearls to the edge of the cake stand.
GD Thinking of You
My next project features papers and embellishments from the oh so lovely Love Nest collection!

I adore the detail in this oval Fancy Frame stamp!

I’m so glad you stopped by today!  ~Laurie
