Hoopla Easter decorations with Kristii Lockart

Hi there dear friends!!! I’m very excited to show you my place setting ideas that I will be using this year to jazz up our Easter Celebration! Glitz Designs patterned papers inspired me to make everyone a mini basket full of candy and a cute little place card that will add some color and make each spot at our table special!

The basket is sitting on a little doily cut from Glitz Design Hoopla Frames patterned paper using Papertrey Ink’s Parisian Doily Die. The basket is made using Glitz Design Hoopla Dots paper and Papertrey Ink Hawaiian Shores Cardstock.
I also used a vintage cream doily to decorate the edges of the basket. I embellished the basket using Papertrey Ink Aqua Mist Twill ribbon, Hawaiian Shores Grosgrain ribbon and a Prima Fairytale Rose.
I made the place card with a folded piece of Glitz Design Love Nest Floral Paper. I stamped the Glitz Design Maya Bird onto Papertrey Ink Aqua Mist paper using Colorbox turqoise ink and I added a little jewel from Kaiser Craft. I mounted the bird onto another doily I die cut using Papertrey Ink’s Doily Details collection. I added the name and embellished with Prima and Recollections flowers.

I also made a Spring Banner for our celebration using Glitz Design Hoopla Dots Paper and Glitz Design Love Nest Stripe paper. I hand cut the banners and added a scalloped border. I die cut the Banner Borders that grace the top of each banner with Papertrey Ink’s Banner Border die.
I added Papertrey Ink’s Aqua Mist Twill Ribbon and Recollection’s Roses. I die cut the circles with Papertrey Ink’s Limitless Layer’s Collection. I used American Crafts Flat Thickers to spell out spring.

Supplies Used:
Glitz Design “Hoopla” Collection: Dot and Frames:
Glitz Design “Love Nest” Collection: Stripe and Floral
Glitz Design Maya Bird Stamp
Other supplies:

These Glitz design papers are my favorite and I am so excited that I was able to use them for my Easter celebration! They are so versatile and perfect for any project you have planned!!

It’s the Thought that Counts with Michelle Philippi

There are a couple things you may not know about me, and oddly enough, they are related.
I love to send little gifts across the miles, for any and all and no special occasion. The second thing is that I am incredibly cheap frugal. I don’t believe one has to spend a fortune on a gift; I honestly and truly do believe that it’s the thought that counts.
That being said, I’m not just going to pop a Snickers bar in the mail. But what I will do is gather up a bunch of yummies on the cheap and decorate the packaging and then mail it off – that’s part of the whole thought that counts thing ;) So today I am sharing (2) little sweet gifts with you – a Ghirardelli chocolate bar for our adult friends, and a box of Jujubees for our younger friends (or those adults who still have that kid-at-heart thing goin’ on).
Ghirardelli bar featuring the Hoopla collection.
Box of Jujubees featuring the Scarlett collection.

Messages to Myself with Michelle Jackson-Mogford

Hi all
It’s my turn to share my Glitzy corner of the crafting world with you for this month and I thought I would look at using up some of those scraps that we all keep!
I love that you can mix and match the paper collections in the Glitz Designs lines, the colours and patterns work really well together and both my layouts this month show that so without further ado let me share my creations;

This is a layout showing a sequence of photos my husband took of the grandchildren while he was having a conversation with them via skype … the wonders of modern technology heh!
The ingredients;
Glitz Designs Hoopla papers – pipework, frames, floral
Glitz Designs Scarlett paper – wallpaper
Glitz Designs Love nest paper – stripes
Glitz Designs Scarlett paper layers
Glitz Designs Scarlett glitzers
Glitz Designs Clear distressing stamps – distressing round

I created a mat and layer for my main photo and worked out it’s position on the page (the pencil marks you can see are the position of the bits on my layout that I laid out before committing to the design!) I then distressed the edges of the 12 x 12 and inked it. Using the distress rounds stamps I then added some circular shaped features to the background with some peeled paint distress ink.

I then ripped the edges of some of my scraps….

…..and assembled them with the photo and mat in position

I cut mats for my small photos and creased and curled the edges upwards to add dimension adhering them to the layout at various levels using foam pads for dimension

Taking a paper layer I cut the phone and speech bubble from it and mounted them on cardstock to create embellishments

And added them to my layout on foam pads for dimension along with some ribbon for texture and my journalling.

I love this layout as the photos not only tell a story of a conversation but catch Sophie and Dylan being absolutely natural!

Moving on … recently I have been giving myself a good talking to. I think it is all too easy sometimes to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life and forget to touch base with ourselves so this layout is all about me and the secret message I have written to myself on the hidden journaling block.

The sentiments of the Glitz Designs stickers fit this layout perfectly, and so to the ingredients;
Glitz Designs Love nest paper – polka
Glitz Designs Hoopla papers – zebra and polka
Glitz Designs Scarlett paper – polka
Glitz Designs Love nest rub ons
Glitz Designs Love nest glitzers
Glitz Designs Love nest cardstock stickers – titles
Glitz Designs Love nest what nots
Glitz Designs tulle
Glitz Designs frostings in pink and clear

I distressed the edges of the 12 x 12 liberally

Then cut out 3 portrait photos of me and mounted them on to some Glitz paper …

…. cutting them out with a loose border and mounting them onto some distressed rectangles of Scarlet polka paper. I also added some hessian across the page, yet more polka paper and some pink tulle.

After adhering the photos onto the page with foam pads for dimension I added some secret journalling to a what not ….

… creating a secret pouch for it on the back with foam tape and paper, leaving the sentiment at the top poking out.

Cutting the roses from the polka paper I created an embellishment to sit under the remember tab.

Adding cardstock stickers said everything I needed to say on the layout and I had a bit of fun with a birdie rub on, a glitzer crown and some frosting.

This is a very personal layout, and I love the fact I have been able to hide the message I have written to myself on the the what not.

So what will you do with your glitz scraps? what message do you want to write to yourself? Whatever it is you want to create I know you will find just the right Glitzy product to help you along the way.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re well and happy.
Until soon Happy Crafting

A Little bit of Pink with Michelle Philippi

Happy Spring! – I have been waiting for spring for what seems like years. Let’s hope the weather mirrors the season real soon because snow and cold is getting way old. What’s not way old however is the Hoopla line. It’s my most favie. At least today it is *giggles* Trendy colors, pretty images, and the perfect words. Just love it so.
Ohhh this sweet picture touches my heart so. There’s nothing more cute than 2 little BFFs telling secrets. And they’re usually the silly non-scandalous adult kind. They’re something like “yesterday, I got to have a cookie!” – adorable.

Scrapbooking Holiday Traditions with Lisa Andrews

We enjoy celebrating holidays with small family traditions. I think it’s important to celebrate together as a family because it creates strong bonds and special memories.

One of our traditions for celebrating New Year’s Eve is that our family drives a couple hours north and we stay in a hotel for a couple of nights. This is always a relaxing time that we all look forward to after participating in many Christmas activities.

This year, we lit up sparklers at midnight to celebrate the new year. I think this was the first year that all three of our kids made it until midnight!

The Glitz Hoopla line was perfect for this page with the party and celebrate sentiments used throughout this line. Just what I was looking for to create a playful, party feel.

Another holiday tradition we have is that grandma brings delicious Valentine sugar cookies each year for Valentine’s Day. This is one tradition that our entire family looks forward to!

I created the doily background by placing a paper doily on the background paper and misted over the top of it. When the doily was lifted, it left a cool design behind.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing a couple of my favorite holiday traditions with me today!

Soft Spring cards with Laurie Schmidlin

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!  I don’t have anything green to share with you today (my bad), but how about something soft & cheerful instead?  :-)

  GDS Enjoy Today

I have to admit, this first card is my favorite!  Just looking at it makes me long for even a hint of Spring!  Even though that might take a while (we live in an area where Spring comes very late), I can dream…and stamp using Spring inspired colors!
After running my background piece of patterned paper (Scarlett Wallpaper from Glitz Design) through my die cutting machine using an embossing folder, I lightly sanded it to give a slightly distressed look.

GDS Spring Love

For my next card, I kept the same basic color scheme, but went for slightly brighter shades.  I just adore the sweet image of the bird delivering a love note…it’s sure to brighten anyone’s day!

Thanks for joining me here today!  I hope your day is full of wonderful little surprises!  ~Laurie
