Spring Keepsakes with Emeline Seet

Hi all,

Happy Mid March!

Logically, spring should make its way to some of you soon and here’s a piece I created using the back of a canvas frame in the name of this gorgeous season. I turned the canvas frame to the reverse side and used it like a shadow box.
Each time i think of spring, flowers, blooms, growth, birds and bright colored images come to mind. Hope you’re ready for the warmth spring brings.

Next, I stamped the Distressed Couture Flower Clear stamp onto Claudine Hellmuth’s Sticky Back Canvas three times and cut each image out. I stamped the flower once more onto the card base in Shabby Shutters ink. I adhered the canvas flowers to the card base and added lace and buttons and a fun little scalloped edge.

Feeling Pretty & Faithful Friends with Leah Farquharson

We recently had a really big family occasion – it was exciting and lovely, and fun. But you know as a lady, you um, sometimes struggle with something to wear? As you know if you’re a reader here, all of my guys were dec’d out in tuxes, and I didn’t want to feel underdressed. So started the process of trying to find something suitable. And needless to say – it just couldn’t be found. So what did I do? Not give up – that’s for sure! I decided to make my outfit. Or I should say, I ended up just making the skirt. 30 yards of tulle, a zipper and lining fabric {but no pattern} later, this is what I had:

Supplies: Glitz Designs:Hoopla Zebra patterned paper, Scarlett Map, Floral, Bouquet, Polka patterned papers. Scarlett Glitzers, Rubons, Whatnots. Love Nest Whatnots. Pom poms, Black Yellow Aqua. Giant Rhinestones. Clear Red Aqua. Frosting, Pink Black Green. Teeny Alpha Aqua Block. Other: Foam letters from American Crafts

And my conclusion? Every woman needs a tulle skirt some time in her lifetime. I felt like a princess – in a very grown-up, awesome way.

The last time the boys got sick, I watched something cool. Our youngest definitely counts our oldest son to be  his best friend – and to me, he really showed it lately when the big guy was under the weather {and working on a loose tooth! lol}. Instead of heading off and doing his own thing, he cuddled up to big brother even though he wasn’t sick at all. Of course as a mom, part of me shuddered – knowing he would go down quickly with the same, but I figured it was inevitable, so I just let it go. I love seeing the bond between them, even though I spend half of my time breaking up their fights.

Supplies: Glitz Designs: Hoopla Pipework patterned paper. Scarlett Floral, Map patterned papers. Scarlett Titles, Journaling, Rubons. Love Nest Whatnots, Glitzers, Peekaboo.  Hoopla Journaling. Teeny Alpha Yellow Block. Other: craft supply ribbon, button. Flower from Prima.

Thinking of You Card Set with Iwona Palamountain

It’s been a while since my last post, so I’m happy to jump back in the saddle. Today I’m sharing with you again a set of cards, but this time they’re much simpler to reproduce.
It’s the intricate patterns on the papers, that makes the cards look full of detail. That’s exactly what I love patterned papers for :)
I hope that you’ll like them!

Celebrations with Tracie Hudson

March is a busy month for us as a family – with lots of birthdays and anniversaries to celebrate.
My youngest boy, J, kicked off our celebrations with his birthday yesterday!
To document his special day, I couldn’t miss the opportunity to use some of the wonderful birthday delights, which can be found in the Glitz Hoopla collection.

Hoopla is the perfect scrapbooking product to use for birthday themed layouts, cards or off the page projects. The bright citrus/teal colour scheme means they work so well for both the guys or dolls in your life.

Supplies – Glitz Designs Distressing Round Stamp. Hoopla Zebra, Floral and Cake patterned paper. Hoopla Glitzers, Whatnots, Paper Layers, Titles, Journaling, Rubons. Frosting, and Giant Rhinestones.

Towards the end of March, my youngest Sister will be ending our month of celebrations - as she celebrates her 40th birthday. Over the past few weeks I have been putting an album together for her which documents her life – this is one of the final pages of the album – her life as a mother.

Supplies – Glitz Designs Love Nest Floral and Blocks patterned paper. Love Nest Paper layers, Whatnots, PeekaBoo. Teeny Alpha brown Round. Frosting.

The zingy and soft colour pallet of Glitz Designs Love Nest worked so well for this page. I wanted to keep with the Vintage theme, but wanted to add a modern day twist to the page – which I achieved with the addition of the hand cut, brightly coloured floral design.

Have a great day and thanks for dropping by.

Birthday Layout with Sasha Halloway

Finally a two pager out of me. Not really something I do often and so that is what I chose for this months assignment. I have 2 growing boys and they are exactly 6 years apart. We planned that on purpose to not have our kids back to back because for us at the time it was easier. Especially with both of us deploying overseas and being active duty. Looking back I do not regret one move we made they are closer than ever.
This year is the first year we are celebrating their birthdays in the same year with a party. We usually let one have a party every other year but still celebrate with a nice intimate family thing or they can choose one activity to do.

Springy Wishes with Michelle Philippi

Spring is in the air – and it’s about time. This bizarro weather that snows and rains for days and weeks and then gives you a day of sunshine to take away the winter blahs only to be tricked the next day when you are awakened by bright white snow in the backyard?! – is for the birds. So I’m just going to will spring in to coming. In everything I do. I’m going to wear springy clothes, spray on floral springy scents, and start making bright and fun springy cards. Denial can be a fun place to be sometimes *giggles*

Project 365 & Quotes with Noel Culbertson

In my third year of Project 365 (taking a picture a day, everyday, for a year), I was inspired to find a quote to go along each picture of the day. It’s been a thought provoking, and often motivating, journey. With the first two months of 2011 photographed and quoted, I figured it was high time I put a few of these thoughts to paper with the wonderful Glitz Designs.

Cards for Friends with Laurie Schmidlin

Good morning!  I’ve got two cards to share with you today, and they couldn’t be more different from each other!  I have to admit though, that is just how my creative brain works.  I thoroughly enjoy making each and every card…but when it’s finished, I am already moving on to something else.  :-)

   GD Friend

My first card is more on the vintage side…with tilted panels, messy stitching, and slightly mismatched embellishments.  This type of card is probably my favorite kind to make…I just love the unevenness of it all!

GD All in the Details

And now for something more on the bold side!  Don’t you just love how the different papers in the Hoopla line stand out wonderfully on their own and yet work so perfectly together as well?  Mmmm, mmmm!  It doesn’t get any better for paper lovers like myself!  :-)
Thank you for stopping by today! ~Laurie
