Believe with Rommel Okuma

Hi there! Rommel is here! How have you been?
Today I want to share two LOs I’ve made specially for Father’s Day and one about a hot spring day. Let’s go!

This first project is about my father:

I choose to use Afternoon Muse collection. The Black and White photo had a good contrast with all colorfull details.

Believe is the title of this page! A thing I’ve learned with my father: Always believe in yourself, in your life…

Paper layers: how great paper layers can be on the projects! Look this:

Here, a surprise: I used photo slides to decorate this page:

I’m really in love with this collection! We can made a many kind of pages using just this amazing papers. If you like colorfull projects, Afternoon Muse papers are the collection that you´re looking for!

With this Filmstrip Frame I used Glitzers:

And now another project for my nieces album:

I choose this photo, taken in a hot spring day, playing in a park. I need to say that this page was a big challenge for me. Laced with Grace collection it’s amazing for who loves shabby style.  But I have some problems to use red! hahaha Yes, it’s real!

So, after think a lot I chose three papers and designed sketch on my mind. With paper layers I had a idea to make a book/magazine, a kind of memory book, childhood book… I sanded the background paper and after this used some distress ink. I love when paper looks like an old thing:

I added a bunch of details in this page, to really look like a book. Lace painted with distress ink and distress stain:

Butterflies I cuted out from paper and added with flowers. And a delicate detail with organza ribbon:

Floral Cards with Iwona Palamountain

Hello, paper lovers! Today’s Glitz Design post is full of reds… because of the beautiful Laced With Grace collection, that I can’t get enough of!
I love these vintage roses on the Floral paper. It’s almost too beautiful to cut into, and I mean ‘almost’ only because there’s no paper that I wouldn’t resist cutting :)

Glitz Design “Laced With Grace ” papers: Floral, Butterflies, Plaid
Glitz Design “Laced With Grace” Journaling Cardstock Sticker
Glitz Design “Laced With Grace” Titles Cardstock Sticker

Other: cardstock: recycled kraft, SU! (Wild Wasabi), American Crafts (black); ink: Distress Ink (Frayed Burlap); wrinkled & satin ribbon; buttons; Leafy Branch die: Taylored Expressions; flowers

The next one, I wanted to keep toned down (as much as I can tone down a card… lol) and more graphic in look. I love stamping on patterned paper, and the delicate pattern on the back of Polka paper was perfect for it.

Glitz Design “Laced With Grace” paper: Polka

Other: cardstock: recycled kraft; stamps: PTI (Fancy Flourishes, Year Of Flowers: Morning Glories, Out On A Limb Sentiments); ink: Memento (Rich Cocoa, Rhubarb Stalk), Distress Ink (Frayed Burlap), Versa Magic (Pumpkin Spice); buttons

I hope you like them! Have a fabulous day,
Iwona (Chupa)

Daddy’s Girl with Noel Culbertson

“Daddy’s Girl” is one of those titles that I’ve always held quite proudly. As a little girl, my dad would sometimes wake me up extra early in the morning to go out for hot chocolate and breakfast. Even now, my dad will stop by and we’ll talk or watch movies long after the rest of my household has gone to bed. It’s one of the little memories I’ve tried to pass onto my girls… sunrises and hot cocoa, walking through the tulip fields, picnics in the farmlands. Little moments that equal big memories.

Whatnot Cards with Michelle Philippi

TGIF! It’s Friday, school’s out for summer, nothin’ but good times ahead, right?! Right!
I really love Glitz’s Whatnots. They are so so so much fun. As a cardmaker though I was a little standoffish with them from the beginning because I thought they were just to go on scrapbook layouts. But I will not be stifled and deprived of Whatnot goodness! So Today I’ve got some cards that I made from Whatnots, and that I used my pretty Whatnots on.
These first 2 cards are really fun in that I just took the entire Whatnot and folded it down to make my card and then embellished away. The backside is a great plain white with a gorgeous sheen that is perfect for writing on.

Next up are a couple of quick & easy cards. Cutting my pretty Whatnots down as I would fun patterned paper and then embellishing with stickers makes a quick card on the fly that you can drop in the mail in 10 minutes. Just don’t forget the drop in the mail part….sometimes I forget that step *giggles*

Celebrating Vacations & Father’s with Mou Saha

Hi there my Glitz pals, Mou Saha here with today’s projects.

As I was going through all of our recent cruise photos, I stopped at one where my daughter was standing in front of a wall… the wall had a design of a woman leaning out of a window with a plate of fruits in her hand. The background was just as important as the subject in front of it. To highlight the lovely Victorian image, I decided to layer clusters of roses cut out of the Laced with Grace Floral paper.

For my second layout and in honor of Father’s Day, I created a page about a funny family anecdote from a few years back.
This mini letter stickers are my absolute favorite for creating long titles.

To create the banner at the top of the page, I simply cut the banner from the Afternoon Muse Banner paper. But instead of attaching it right side up, I flipped it to reveal the pretty pink scripty/musical note side.

Supplies:
Layout 1: Hello Beautiful
1. Love Games Scorecard 12×12 paper
2. Laced With Grace Floral 12×12 paper
3. Afternoon Muse Striped 12×12 paper
4. Teeny Alpha Brown stickers

Layout 2: There Was This One Day
1. Afternoon Muse Carte Postal 12×12 paper
2. Afternoon Muse Banner 12×12 paper
3. Laced With Grace Butterflies 12×12 paper
4. Laced With Grace Polka 12×12 paper
5. Teeny Alpha Pink stickers

Whatnot Fun with Laurie Schmidlin

Hello again!  I have a couple of projects to share with you…one to celebrate Father’s Day and one to celebrate Summer!
  GDS Dad

I LOVE the fact that several of the papers, whatnots, stamps, and peek-a-boo’s from the new lines can be used for either feminine or masculine cards!  For my Father’s Day card, I limited my frilly embellishments and instead decorated my card with a Whatnot, a Peek-A-Boo, and a stamped ribbon sporting the #1 Dad sentiment!
GDS Good Things
For my next card, I went in a totally different direction!  I chose bright and summery colors and embellished with all kinds of girly fripperies!  :-)  I started with a 5 1/4″ square card, and added some patterned paper, a Whatnot, and a stamped image (all from the Afternoon Muse line).
Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope your day is filled with all sorts of creativity!  ~Laurie

Beach Huts & Dad with Michelle Jackson-Mogford

Hi all, for my Glitz offering this month I decided to swap one of my layouts for something a little different ….

Oh I do love to be beside the seaside!! And the fabulous Afternoon muse papers with a few other Glitzy bits from the other lines were perfect to create my little piece of summery home decor … here’s the ingredients;
Glitz Designs Afternoon Muse papers; Stripe, Polka, Floral, Block and Carte Postal
Glitz Designs Laced with Grace paper; plaid
Glitz Designs Afternoon Muse Glitzers
Glitz Designs Love Games Paper layers
Glitz Designs Love Games cardstock stickers – titles
Glitz Designs clear distressing stamps set 3

I cut out my pieces for construction from some chipboard…

…then covered them with the yummy papers on both sides and started to construct. Before I attached the back of the hut I decorated the inside of the back panel with a Glitz stamp, my family photo and some material for texture.

After attaching the back of the hut I decorated the door and added a hinge down the left side made from a strip of patterned paper folded in half.

For the roof tiles I cut the green diamonds from the reverse side of the Carte postal paper, cut them in half and layered them up on the roof, adding the bunting cut from the paper layer to the front.

I added some little trinkets inside the hut and added a small step to the front finishing it all off with the cardstock sticker on the inside of the door. I hope you’ve enjoyed my little trip to the seaside. Next I’d like to introduce you to a very special man in my life …

…My Dad! As it’s fathers day this month we are celebrating the special fellas in our lives over at Glitz and the Love Games line fits perfectly with this rare photo of my dad not making a cheesy grin at the camera! Here’s what I used;
Glitz Designs Love Games papers; polka, stripe, damask, floral
Glitz Designs Love Games cardstock stickers; titles and journalling
Glitz Designs Love Games paper layers
Glitz Designs Afternoon Muse glitzers
Glitz Designs Love Games whatnots
Glitz Designs teeny alphas; Burnt orange and cream
Glitz Designs Run on fancy frames

I started with a bit of distressing, well I would wouldn’t I! and decided to go with the lovely black side of the Love Games floral paper as my base, adding in a little red insert with the polka paper to match the mount I created for the photo.

I built up layers of paper, paper pleats, rub ons and some hessian for texture.

My top tip when using the fabulous Glitz whatnots and stickers, if you only want to have a bit peaking out, cut them so you get the rest to use on another project.

Adding the teeny alphas (LOVE these!) for my title…

… I finished off the layout by circling the relevant words on the paper layer for my journalling. I think this layout will go on an easel on the side in my house, the Love games papes are so stylish and I want everyone to know how much I love my dad!
Thanks for letting me share my Glitzy projects with you and thanks for stopping by. I’ll see you soon, until then Happy Crafting
Love M x
