Family Collage with Kristii Lockart

Hi again dear friends!!  It’s hard to believe that the end of July is nearly upon us.  I hope you’ve had many opportunities to take family photos during the warm summer days.  I’ve taken advantage of the moments my family has been together and thought it would be a great idea to make a little gift for my daughters so that they would remember the fun we’ve had this summer!

I took an old 7 Gypsies Artists Printers Tray and filled it with photos from the past few weeks along with lots of Glitz Goodies to celebrate that Life is Good!!

This project features Cardstock Stickers from the Laced with Grace, Love Games, and Afternoon Muse Collections.

I also used the cute little Afternoon Muse Peekaboo banners embellished with some sweet little pink roses. So fun!

The papers in this project are all from the Afternoon Muse Collection.  Whatnots from the Laced with Grace and Love Games Collections came in handy too.

The decorated Glassine Envelope has a sweet little note tucked inside.  A personal message just for my sweet girls!

I can’t wait to give my girls their gifts and I hope that I have inspired you to take those summer photos and display them in a fun and creative way!
Wishing you a very Glitzy Day,

Layouts of Love with Camilla Ekman

It’s such an honour to be making my very first own blog post for the Glitz blog today. I have been playing with two of the winter releases from Glitz. First, my absolute favourite…the Laced with Grace collection… I just LOVE the colours and the patterns. In the photo my son is hugging one of his younger cousins. He adores her!

The piece from the Whatnot pops among the paler flowers.
And those Paper Layers are so useful!
Material list:
Glitz Design “Laced with Grace” Papers: Stripe, Polka, Floral
Glitz Design “Laced with Grace” Paper Layers
Glitz Design “Laced with Grace” Whatnot
Other: Flowers (Prima, Petaloo), Leaves (Prima), Thickers (American Crafts)
Secondly, I made a layout with the lovely Love Games collection. And the layout is of course about my dear husband. The red goes so well with the black and white. To make it even more romantic I added some lace and the red flower and butterfly.

Material list:
Glitz Design “Love Games” Papers: Damask, Stripe, Poppies
Other: Flower (Petaloo), Leaves (Prima), Butterfly (Prima), Crystal swirls (Prima), Tickets (Tim Holtz), Artisan Elements (Pink Paislee), Metal charm (Making Memories), Chipboard alpha (American Crafts)

Love Games Banner Book with Michelle Philippi

Banners and pennants are so trendy in the papercrafting world right now. As are mini books, slam books, smash books, whatever you call them, little handmade books are really popular right now too. So I thought I’d combine the two trends and make a little banner book for my daughter to journal and keep important little keepsakes in.
039 copy
I die cut a bunch of banner pieces from Glitz’s Love Games collection.
001 copy
And then I punched (2) 1/2″ circles in each banner piece for my ribbon to go through and hold it all together. I decided to layer in some glassine bags between each piece where keepsakes could be tucked in. I punched the circles in the bags as well (you’ll want to put about 3 of them together for the punch to go through).
015 copy
And then I thought about getting some more volume in there, so I added in some Whatnots
(from the Love Games collection as well).

And then I played with the order of how I wanted my little book to be flipped through.

052 copy
I didn’t embellish much inside the book, but I did go in and add Titles cardstock stickers to the front of each glassine bag so they wouldn’t be so stark.

And then on the back, I added another Titles cardstock sticker with a little more meaning,
and signed it to make it more personal.

The front of my book is embellished with fun Titles cardstock stickers, Glitzers, a Giant Rhinestone, and then personalized with some Teeny Alphas.

Life & Love with Nicole Martel

Hello ladies! I am so excited to be on this fabulous team and I am ready to share two new layouts in which I created using the “Love Games” line. I love this line even though I’m not big on scrapping “Love” layouts. For the first layout I wanted to scrap this photo of my son with his grandma. I wasn’t sure how I was going to scrap this photo but when I saw the “Love Games” line, I knew it would be perfect. I love how this layout turned out.

I love the Peek-A-Boos but wasn’t sure what to do with them so for this layout I decided to punch some butterflies from the transparencies to create my very own unique clear embellies. Don’t they look fab?  Since I didn’t have any flowers that would go with my patterns, I decided to create my own using some tull, pom poms and Glubers.

Supplies used:
Glitz Design “ Love Games” Whatnot
Glitz Design “Love Games” Cardstock Stickers
Glitz Design “Love Games” Glitzers
Glitz Design “Love Games” Peek-A-Boo
Glitz Design: Tull
Glitz Design: Pom Poms
Other: Cardstock, Brads: Flower, Corner rounder, Black pen, Butterfly punch: Border Punch.

For my next layout, I tried a few different techniques to spark up my layout. The first thing I did was scrape the top of my Glitzer to distress it a bit and then I hand-cut the heart from a piece of the paper layers and hand wrote N&P.

Next, using a mini butterfly punch, I punched out the word “joy” from a piece of the paper layers to create a fun little embellishment! For those of you who do not own a sewing machine like myself, simply use a marker and ruler to create a fun line of dots to mimic the look of a stitched line.

And this is how it looks altogether!

Supplies used:
Glitz Design “ Love Games” Whatnot
Glitz Design “Love Games” Cardstock Stickers
Glitz Design “Love Games” Glitzers
Glitz Design “Love Games” Peek-A-Boo
Glitz Design “Love Games” Paper Layers
Other: Cardstock, Corner rounder, Black pen, Butterfly punch: Border Punch.

I hope I was able to inspire you today! Please come back!

Love Game Cards with Laurie Schmidlin

Hello again!  The other day I sat down and pulled out goodies from the Love Games Collection and fell in love with them all over again!  :-)  One of my favorite things about Glitz is all of the fun things they include in each collection (Whatnots, Cardstock Stickers, Alphabets, Paper Layers, and Stamps to name just a few)!  In both of the cards below, I combined many of the different products for a fun look!
GD You Mean Everything
In this first card, I started with some Love Games patterned paper and then added several Cardstock Stickers.
  GD you Mean Everything (Close-Up)
I created a little pocket to hold another Cardstock Sticker.  Not only is it fun for the recipient to pull the tag out of the pocket and discover another message, but it can also be kept to use as a bookmark!
  GD Love You
For my second card I started with one of the fun Paper Layers for a background (also from the Love Games Collection).  I added a Whatnot, stamped Love tag, and a heart tag with some Teeny Alpha stickers.  Yes, that is a decorative Glitzer peeking out from the left (I LOVE Glitzers)!!
Thanks so much for joining me here today!  I hope you have a wildly creative day!  ~Laurie

Birthday Wishes & Friends with Kristii Lockart

Hi there Glitzy friends!!  It’s CHA time and I don’t know about you, but I have been loving the previews of all the new Glitz Design Lines!!  I can’t wait to get my hands on them, that’s for sure!  In the meantime, I’ve made some fun cards using up my Glitz Design scraps.
In this first card, I used my favorite Glitz Line ever, Afternoon Muse, to create some Big Birthday Wishes:

I matted several pieces of cardstock on top of a kraft cardstock base and fussy cut the horses from Afternoon Muse Carte Postal Paper and the little clown image from the Afternoon Muse Whatnots and created a fun little birthday scene.

Supplies Used:
Glitz Design “Afternoon Muse” papers:  Carte Postal and Banner
Glitz Design “Afternoon Muse” Peekaboos: Banner
Glitz Design “Afternoon Muse” Cardstock Stickers: Titles

Other Supplies:  Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream and Kraft; Prima Rose and Leaves; Hand Dyed Seam Binding: MemrieMare; Papertrey Ink Birthday Bash Sentiments; Little Pink Floral from my stash

The next card is made with a collection of different Glitz Design goodies.  I stamped the back side of the Love Games Floral paper with a small dot stamp and paired it borders made with the back side of the banner papers.  I layered the sweet little girl images from the Laced with Grace Paper Layers on top stickers from Laced with Grace and Afternoon Muse Cardstock Sticker Collections.

Next, I added some lace, flowers, and a button.  What a fun little card to send to a friend!!  Don’t you just love the sweet little girls?

Supplies Used:
Glitz Design “Afternoon Muse” papers:  Banner
Glitz Design “Love Games” papers:  Floral
Glitz Design “Afternoon Muse” Cardstock Stickers:  Ticket
Glitz Design “Laced with Grace” Cardstock Stickers:  Floral and Birds
Glitz Design “Laced with Grace” Paper Layers:

Other Supplies:  Papertrey Ink Kraft Cardstock; Prima Lace; Papertrey Ink Button; Papertrey Ink Stamp: Polka Dot Basics and Tiny Tags; Papertrey Ink Dies: Tiny Tags and Edgers #3; Florals: Prima and Recollections and small little flower from my stash

Wishing you a very Glitzy Day!!!

Summer Time Layouts with Michelle Jackson-Mogford

Hi all,
Well it’s that time again to share some Glitzy goodness with you with some Glitz Designs loveliness.

July is one of my favourite months, it holds so many memories for me as it’s the month that the long school holidays start and it’s my birthday month so I wanted my projects to sum up those feelings ….

40 years on

I hardly recognise this little person, but it is one of my favourite pictures of me and makes me smile, I realised it is now 40 years since it was taken, oh my life!! And I thought it would be interesting to see what I would say to that younger me knowing what I know now so created this layout with some hidden journaling to hold my message.

I have mixed up the collections for this one and this is what I used
Glitz Designs Love Games papers; score card and polka
Glitz Designs Laced with Grace papers; polka, floral and stripe
Glitz Designs Afternoon Muse paper; polka
Glitz Designs Teeny alphas; apple green block, pink block, yellow block and burnt orange
Glitz Designs Laced with Grace Whatnots
Glitz Designs Laced with Grace paper layers
Glitz Designs Afternoon Muse peek-a-boo
Glitz Designs Love Games clear stamp set
Glitz Designs Afternoon Muse clear stamp set
Glitz Designs Save the Date clear stamp set

I started by laying down a rough block of colour in the centre of the score card paper with some distress ink to create a base to lift my design…

…Then built up a collage of distressed circles to reflect the circle of the date stamp and to introduce all the happy colours from the papers. I also put my photos through a cartoon effect and printed them onto some mat paper, a fun effect that lends to the retro story I am telling.

I added some foam tape around three edges of my ‘now’ photo to adhere it to the page, leaving the right side open to slip in my hidden journaling.

I love the sentiment on the Laced with Grace paper layer but it was too big for my layout in its entirety so I cut some word strips from it ….

…. then added in the missing words with the teeny alphas. I love mixing up typesets and these teeny alphas are not only one of my favourite Glitz products but quite possibly one of my most favourite products ever! I love the colours.

Finally I stamped the Hello stamp at the top of a strip of card and fold it concertina style to slip in behind my ‘now’ photo. This is where my hidden message to the younger me lives.

This layout will live on an easel on my side for a while, I love its happiness with all the colours and I love the message it speaks to me.

So with the summer holidays round the corner over here in the UK and all my memories of long days playing in the back garden with the paddling pool and trips to the seaside I really smiled when I saw this photo of my cousins two little ones sitting in their sandpit in the sun, I love the candied shot.

Happy Life

I used;
Glitz Designs Laced with Grace papers; stripe, polka and plaid
Glitz Designs Afternoon Muse papers; block, stripe and banner
Glitz Designs Afternoon Muse paper layers
Glitz Designs Afternoon Muse cardstock stickers; titles
Glitz Designs Afternoon Muse Whatnots
Glitz Designs Afternoon Muse Glitzers
Glitz Designs Laced with Grace cardstock stickers; titles

I took some bright yellow paint and splattered the middle of my base paper, adding ‘sunshine’…

….And started building up layers of paper as a base for my photo. I created a paper ribbon with some of the Afternoon Muse block paper by folding a strip backwards and forwards along its length and when adhering allowing sections of it to stand free.

The clown from the what not was perfect as an accent at the corner of my collage so I cut him free and adhered him to the end of the follow your bliss title sticker.

The Glitzers were perfect for finishing off my layout as was one of the banners cut from the banner paper, while the ferris wheel cut from the paper layer finished of the happy fun fair feel of my page.

I hope July is a happy month for you too, thanks for stopping by and until soon Happy Crafting
