Fabulous & Fun Layouts with Lisa Andrews

I’m happy to be sharing a couple of layout creations on the Glitz Designs blog today!

First up is a page about reorganizing my scrapbook room. A couple of weeks ago I shared on my blog about the process of getting organized and this layout features the results.

I’m loving the bright blue walls and empty space. Perfect for getting the creative juices flowing. This layout features pieces from three different Glitz Designs lines. I think they all work together pretty well!

Next up is a layout featuring one of my favorite photos I took on a recent trip to San Francisco taken while we were riding on a trolley.

When I pulled out the Glitz Love Games stamps to use on this page I wondered to myself why I hadn’t used this fun “Hello Badge” stamp yet. I’m thinking there will be a lot of future uses for this stamp.

Enjoy your day!

Shabby Chic cards with Kristii Lockart

Hi there dear friends!!  This week I’ve been having some fun playing with my Afternoon Muse Fairy Whispers Stamp.  I stamped the back side of the Love Games Poppies paper with the Fairy Whispers stamp and ended up using the strip on both of my cards for today.

I stitched two strips of the stamped papers to a wide strip of Rustic Cream Cardstock.  I added a die cut strip of Vintage Hymnal paper and added Glitz Design Peek a Boos along with Tim Holtz Accoutrements and Vintage Ephemera to embellish the card.

Supplies Used:

In the second card for today, I used a strip of stamped patterned paper and a strip of Laced With Grace Paper Layers and stitched them to a wide Rustic Cream strip.

I used Glitz Design Laced with Grace Paper Layers and Peek A Boos to embellish the card. Aren’t they beautiful together?  I added some small pearls to embellish the Peek A Boo frame and some Prima Lace to add some texture and shabby chic style!

Advice Layouts with Emeline Seet

Hi all !

I’m wrapping up August with a couple of layouts.

My first layout, titled ” Be Brave” was created using a mixture from Glitz Design’s Lace with Grace, stamps, transparencies and other paper elements. I embossed Glitz Design’s paper layers, tucked and piled them on.

Play Fair or Lose Layout with Jolaine Frias

Hi there! I’m so happy to share with you my first post as a Glitz DT member. As the fall draws near, life around here finally seems to slow down and go back to normal. I know you all must be as excited as I am to get your hands on the new Glitz releases. As I wait patiently for my DT box full of new CHA goodies to arrive, I will share an older LO I created using one of my favorite collections, Love Games.

This is my beautiful sister. I did lots of machine stitching and misting here to go along the collection’s fabulous girly grunge look.

Love the ‘Play Fair or Lose’ sentiment so I covered it with crackle medium to make it stand out. Here’s a few close-ups.

Supplies used:
Glitz Design “Love Games” Paper: Polka
Glitz Design “Love Games” Paper: Scorecard
Other Supplies: Black Cardstock, Petaloo Flowers, Red Acrylic Paint, Raven Glimmer Mist, Ranger Crackle Medium,Tim Holtz Black Soot Distress Ink, Lace from my stash

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you have a Glitzy scrappy time!!!

Banner Cards with Iwona Palamountain

Hello sweets, I’ve got a new post ready for you!
I didn’t plan on this, but there’s a banner on each of my cards. I love banners but I don’t seem to use them often enough… They’re also placed in the same spot – but the layouts are different. Let’s get to it!

The alphabet stickers on the card below, spell “smile”. It’s a gold lettering on red background and I have trouble photographing it.
I took advantage of the Paper Layers, and cut out the girl and the banner out of one of the “Love Games” papers. These papers are quite thin, so I’m always adhering them into cardstock before cutting out bits off it.

This time a Peek-A-Boo banner, made it onto the baby card. I embellished it with some pom-pom trim and a gingham bow.

Backpack Notes with Michelle Philippi

I can’t believe school is starting up again just one week from today. My kiddies will be starting 2nd and 4th grade. I know it sounds cliche’, but where does the time go? I mean really. We were just practicing how to spell “cat-hat-rat” and now we’re writing big words like “everything” in cursive. Amazing.
Today I’m sharing some little backpack notes I made for my kids. We’ll get their backpacks ready together the night before, and then I’ll tuck these in to their snack pockets where they’ll be sure to find them and be reminded that mom and dad are thinking about them as they embark on this new year.

Colorful Layouts with Audrey Yeager

Have I mentioned how excited I am to be designing for Glitz??  I raided my stash and gathered all my Glitz products together to mix and match some lines for these two pages that I created.

Little girls are so much fun.  I love to pick out clothes for Charlotte and do her hair.  Right now it is more for me than her!  :)

On this first page, I really want to play off of the blues and greens in my photos, so I used blue and green in my design with some splashes of yellow and orange.

I created a bow by folding some strips of paper and layering them together.  Then I added a tiny piece around the center.

This butterfly paper just begs to be fussy cut, so I had to do it!

I layered a lot of elements and did a little machine stitching here and there for some texture.

This next page I also wanted to focus on the bright colors from a bunch of different lines, so I printed my photos in black and white.  I did a simple grid design, and outlined each column with black machine stitching.

I have to admit this page was more simple than a lot of my pages, but it still has some of my favorite elements like machine stitching, layering, distressing, and using a visual triangle of color.

Hope you liked my first Glitz reveals!!!!  Can’t wait to start playing with the new stuff!

Vintage Chipboard Album with Tracie Hudson

One of my paper crafting passions is creating mini albums to share as gifts with my friends and family. Using a Glitz Design Chipboard Album, teamed up with other Glitz goodies from the Laced with Grace collection I created this mini album to give as a gift for a very special friend.

A transparent Peek a Boo lies beneath the Journal and Title stickers which decorate the front cover of the album.

Butterflies were hand cut from patterned paper and layered before a little Glitz frosting was applied to give this cover a touch of bling.

The inside page was covered with patterned paper and embellished using What Nots and Stickers from the Laced with Grace collection. A length of lace was wrapped around the stickers before they were attached to the page and then further embellishments added to create a point of interest.

Decorating only one of the pages from each two page spread meant that there is plenty of room in this mini album for your journaling and photographs. To keep the embellishment design running smoothly throughout the album I decorated just along the edge of one of each of the pages. A Sticker was cut in half and attached to the page before being embellished further. The remaining sticker can then be used elsewhere throughout the mini album.

Attaching the Stickers to cardstock and then cutting them out makes them a lot sturdier and also allows for the use of 3d foam pads to be applied. By layering the Stickers above Glitzers it added plenty of dimension to this page.

The use of blooms and lace adds texture to the page.

A Title Sticker was adhered to a Peek A Boo before being 3d layered across a Butterfly What Not from the Laced with Grace collection. Pearls were added to the outer edge of the accent sticker to draw focus to the page title. A Glitzer sticker was cut and attached to the bottom left of the page –

leaving the other half to be used on the opposite page – helping to keep a sense of continuity running throughout the mini album.

A Paper Layer from the Laced with Grace collection was used to cover this page which was embellished using a Glitzer decorated with a bloom. Wording was added to the page using Wood Grain Teeny Alphas.

To create a framed base for the blooms to sit upon a Glitzer was cut in half before being attached to the page. A Butterfly was hand cut from the patterned paper and attached using 3d foam.

A large What Not was used to create the background for this page, which was embellished using a floral design which had been hand cut from a smaller What Not.

The remaining half of the brown frame Sticker was used to peep out from beneath the lace and a small rose used to embellish.

A combination of What Nots and Stickers were used to decorate the inside of the back cover, which had first been covered with patterned paper.
Finally the book was bound by threading along the spine using a length of coordinating ribbon.
If you have used one of the Glitz Designs Chipboard Albums then please leave a link here because I’d love to see them.
Have a wonderful day and thanks for dropping by,

Encouragement Cards with Laurie Schmidlin

Good morning!  One of my favorite reasons for giving cards is to encourage and uplift someone!  It brings me so much joy to know that something I create could make a difference in someone else’s life!  I love that!
GD You Are a Treasure
My first card is a soft, floral card that could be used for any occasion.  I think any occasion is the perfect one to let someone know they are treasured!  :-)  The soft, warm tones of the Laced with Grace collection add to the lovely vintage feel so nicely!
   GD Never Too Old

While my first card was more soft and pretty, this card is more bold with a slight grunge feel to it.  I just adore the Love Games collection and especially love mixing and matching the papers!

I’m so glad you joined me here today!  I hope I have inspired you to share a little encouragement to those around you!  Hugs, Laurie
