Shabby Chic Goodness with Kristii Lockart

Hello dear friends!!  Today I have some shabby chic goodness to share with you using one one of my favorite Glitz papers of all time, the red polka dot from the Love Nest line.
In the first card, I paired the Love Nest Red Polka with Afternoon Muse Floral paper and I totally love the look!!

Strength in Quotes with Noel Culbertson

It’s no secret in my house that I’m a bit of a quote junkie. I love a quote that can express large truths in a simple and timeless style. Much like the little one who has seen a film so many times, they cannot keep themselves from quoting every line while they watch,  I am a hopeless repeater of my favorite quotes and stories. My mom has said I have an “incredible retention for useless information”, and recently at a high school graduation I was lovingly elbowed by my neighbor for finishing each quote in one of the speeches. As impractical as my mental file cabinet of quotes can be, I have found them often to be mileposts along life’s road. Little bits of timeless truth that nudge and guide and sometimes even prod me along the path I’m meant to follow. As it was well put by one of my favorite authors, G.K. Chesterton, “Wit is a sword; it is meant to make people feel the point as well as see it.”
As my summer winds down into bright harvest sunsets and chilly fall mornings, I will be devouring a stack good books and building up my arsenal of quotable quotes to mark the miles of the years to come.

Vacations Layout with Camilla Eckman

Summer has been fantastic. I have spent A LOT of time with my family. We went away on a vacation in Sweden as we feel that it is important for the children to see how beautiful our own country is. I took 1051 photos in 8 days. LOL

Anyway, this is a layout with pictures from a small town called Söderköping. It is such a cute little town with a lot of old buildings. I thought Laced with Grace was such a suitable paper collection for those photos.
Together with some flowers and bling I made the layout as cute as the town.
I also used a beautiful Peek-A-Boo.
Material list:
Glitz Design “Laced with Grace” Papers: Polka, Butterflies, Stripe
Glitz Design “Laced with Grace” Peek-A-Boo
Glitz Design “Laced with Grace” Paper Layers
Other: Flowers (Prima, Petaloo), leaves (Prima), bling swirls (Prima), chipboard piece (Dusty Attic), alpha stickers (Prima), Border punches (Martha Stewart)

Summer vacation really makes me relax. It is all about Carpe Diem. This is a layout for me – a reminder to seize the day and make the most of it. The Afternoon Muse collection has such vibrant colours and I wanted this layout to be colourful.
Material list:
Glitz Design “Afternoon Muse” Papers: Block, Polka
Glitz Design “Afternoon Muse” Peek-A-Boo

Glitz Design “Afternoon Muse” Teeny Alpha (cream)

Happy crafting!

Floral Cards with Iwona Palamountain

Hello, sweets! I’ve been playing around with my Glitz Design pretties… no matter for how long I’d have worked with them for, I honestly can’t imagine getting bored with these fantastic designs. At the same time I’m getting all giddy with excitement, waiting to lay my hands on the brand new CHA lines… have you seen them all yet?? They are A-MA-ZING!!
You just wait until I cut into them too… lol

I pulled out the Hoopla papers for the first card. This collection is the best proof that whoever said that “blue and green should not be seen”, had to be insane.
I love the melancholic look that these two give when paired together.
My card was inspired by this beauty, by my fellow DT Member and a terrific artist, Laurie.

Glitz Design “Hoopla ” papers: Polka, Cake, Frames, Zebra
Glitz Design “Circle Flourish” Stamp

Other: cardstock: white; stamps: PTI (Guide Lines Two), Waltzingmouse Stamps (Vintage Labels 10), The Craft’s Meow (Celebrating You); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black, Bahama Blue), Distress Ink (Frayed Burlap); border punch: EK Success; sewing machine; Nestabilities Labels 10; seam binding; Leafy Branch die: Taylored Expressions; paper flower; Ice Stickles; pearls: Kaisercraft

With my next card, I pushed feminine to the maximum, and filled the space with roses…
I’m seriously addicted to the Laced With Grace Floral paper, so I fugured I should make the card where it plays the main role. No covering it with stuff, let the design shine! I even enhanced the look with the rosey transparency, from the same line. I’ve been hoarding this one for a long time, it’s just too beautiful.

Glitz Design “Laced With Grace” paper: Rose, Floral, Butterflies
Glitz Design “Laced With Grace” Whatnot
Glitz Design “Laced With Grace” Peek-A-Boo

Other: cardstock: cream; stamp: Layers Of Color (Sent With Love); ink: Memento (London Foig), Distress Ink (Frayed Burlap); Shapeabilities Ribbon Tags Trio; string; ; border punch: EK Success; fabric leaves; paper flower; Sprinkles: AnnaBelle Stamps; scor-Buddy

I added interest to the background paper (Rose), by scoring vertical lines with my Scor-Buddy. The effect reminds me of a weathered wooden panel, which again intensifies the romantic feel to this card. I really like how these two turned out, I hope you like them too :)
Thank you for visiting!

Thank You cards with Michelle Philippi

I make a lot of thank-you cards, but when it comes time that I need one right now right now it never fails that I don’t have just the right one. So I sat down and made one special for a friend of mine the other day. I had knee surgery last month and was really surprised by the people that came through for me if you know what I mean. A wise lady once told me: you get yourself laid up in the hospital and you’ll find out who your real friends are. She was right. Pleasantly surprised, I was. And for that I am grateful and giving thanks.
I love 5×5 cards. They are my favorite size card to make. Yes, there is some waste with the cardstock, but you can save that 3.5 x 11 strip and make a mini card with it ;)
The hardest part of 5×5 cards though really is the packaging. But if you’re like me and you can’t ever make a single layer card that fits in to a normal envelope anyway, that part is always an issue. I just use glassine bags though. They work perfectly. And they’re fun to embellish to coordinate with the card too :)
Thanks card

Back to School Layouts with Mou Saha

Hi there Glitz fans, Mou Saha here with today’s

As we are gearing up for the coming school year, all things related to studies and the first day of school are on
my mind. You’ll see the reflection of those thoughts on my layouts this month. However, instead of taking
the traditional primary bright color route for such layouts, I wanted to experiment with elegance as I find my
Glitz products really versatile that easily lend themselves to any theme. Here’s my first page.

From pink harlequin to swallow to butterflies, I wanted to use them all…

My second layout is about the simple truth of time flying by all too quickly and children growing up in the
blink of an eye and attending milestones. For this layout, I tried the artsy mixed media style.

Scrapbooking Vacations with Michelle Jackson-Mogford

Hi all
It’s my turn to share a couple of projects with you using lovely Glitz Designs products and this month I thought I would change it up a bit and scrap in a different size. I decided to use A4 (uk paper size) and found it an interesting challenge and really enjoyed the different discipline. Here’s what I created

Nothing is Black and White

And here’s the twist on the title, my hidden photo and journalling!

For this project I have used:
Glitz Designs Love Games Papers; Floral and Damask
Glitz Designs Afternoon Muse paper; Floral
Glitz Designs Love Games Paper layers
Glitz Designs Afternoon Muse Journal stickers
Glitz Designs Teeny Alphas; cream and ivory block
Glitz Designs frosting; red and black
Glitz Designs Giant Rhinestones; pink, black, green collection.

The photos are from a cruise we went on, it was a formal night and we went to have some proper photos taken, all started out well but after a nice bottle of red with dinner the giggles set in and the formality of the photo shoot was blown! I printed off the ‘proper’ photo in black and white and then one from the end of the shoot, when it all started going south, in colour. The black and white of Love Games works perfectly with my black and white idea and the zing of Afternoon Muse works great for the shot of hidden colour.

I ripped away an aperture slightly larger than my colour photo from the Love Games floral paper and then cut away the centre of the crossword paper layer to create a frame.

I adhered a mat of the yellow paper to the back of the photo and cut a journal sticker to a rounded shape, added this to my photo and recorded my hidden bit of the story.

After matting the black and white photo onto some of the papers, making it big enough to cover the hidden section and distressing the edges, I created a hinge by cutting two of the little damask patterns from the paper and folding the strip in half, adhering it to the photo and the base of the layout so the black and white photo became a little ‘door’

Cutting some of the black ad white poppies from the floral paper and scrunching them into shape I created some bespoke flower embellishments.

Adding rhinestones, lace, ribbon and the gorgeous teeny alphas for my title finished off my layout.

As I had done one of my pages landscape I thought the next one should be portrait

A Volcano and a camel ride

For this project I have used;
Glitz Designs Laced with Grace papers; Floral, Plaid, Rose and Polka
Glitz Designs Love Games paper; score card
Glitz Designs Laced with Grace Journal and Title stickers
Glitz Designs Afternoon Muse Title stickers
Glitz Designs Teeny Alphas; Burnt Orange

I love the orange colours in the Laced with Grace colection and the richness of them has always reminded me of the many volcanos I have been lucky enough to visit, so, the other day when I came across these photos of our camel ride through the Timanfaya volcano range in Lanzorote I knew just the papers to use to scrap my memory of an unforgettable day (for many reasons LOL)

When I get to work with such great paper colletions I really like to be able to mix the different papers up and let them do the work. I cut several layers in different colours and distressed the edges.

When I adhered the paper layers I made sure I left the top edges loose so I could slip my little photos under them in position. I created a distressed matt for my larger photo and added that on foam pads for added dimension.

I then set to and started chopping up some of my lovely stickers, they are heavy duty stickers and can take the punishment! It’s really interseting to see how the stickers can be transformed into something completely different and I will keep all the bits not used as I know somewhere along the line they will be perfect for a project.

After adding the stickers, journalling and creating my title with the teeny alphas my layout was finished and even though it is mainly papers and stickers it still has a lot of dimension and I love the colour of it!

So why not try a different size to scrap your next page in? It’ll make you look at things in a different way! Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you soon, until then Happy Crafting!
