Tag & a Card with Laurie Schmidlin

Good morning!  It’s my turn to share with you some projects I’ve been creating!  The new Glitz collections have arrived arrived at my house, and let me tell you…they are even prettier in person!  I am in paper love!  I usually always have a favorite, but I love all three new collections (Beautiful Dreamer, Vintage Blue, & Dance in Sunshine) so much that I can’t decide which I love more!  :-)
   GD Classy & Fabulous

My first project is a simple tag I created using some of the new Beautiful Dreamer collection!  I just adore how each collection has so many coordinating elements!
WMS Love Lives Here

I used some new Vintage Blue papers and Cardstock Stickers to create this card.  After layering several of the coordinating patterned papers, I then added a Journaling Cardstock Sticker.  I then embellished with some stamped images, ribbon, rhinestones, and a patterned paper covered chipboard heart.
Thanks so much for joining me here today!  ~Laurie

Enchanted Rose cards with Kristii Lockart

Hi there dear friends!!!  I am in heaven.  Complete and total heaven!  Glitz Design’s Beautiful Dreamer Line is pure gorgeousness!  I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing each and every part of this line is!!  I am so in love, I think I’m just going to have to marry it, lol!!!  I think I’ve gotten my point across, so now I’ll show how amazing this line is.

In the first card, I cut out the cute little swinging children from the Beautiful Dreamer What Not and used them as my focal point.  I trimmed a gorgeous Peekaboo full of roses to fit my card and used it to frame the swinging children.  Isn’t it absolutely luscious?

I added a Hot Air Balloon Glitzer and used a Cardstock Sticker for the sentiment. I also added a die cut border of one of the Beautiful Dreamer paper layers for effect.  Aren’t the colors just amazing?

Other Supplies:  Pink Paislee Artisan Elements; Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream Cardstock, Buttons, Button Twine and Banner Borders Die; Recollections floral; Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink; Hand Dyed Seam Binding

In the second card I used a gorgeous rose Whatnot for the focal point.  I surrounded the rose with beautiful layers of patterned papers and paper layers.  I could just swim in the gorgeous colors!!

I added a heart banner Whatnot from the Dance in the Sunshine line.  It was just calling out to me and I had to add another layer to the card!!  I love that you can mix and match the goodies from all the Glitz Design Lines!  Glitz Design has added some trims with each line and you can see a little of the sweet pink lace peeking out from under the layers!!  Soooo fun!  The sentiment is from the Beautiful Dreamer Epoxy Words.  Glitz Design thought of everything!!!

Afternoon Muse goodness with Karola Witczak

Hello! Karola here with my very first post on Glitz Design blog!

Needless to say how happy I am that I can be part of Glitz Design Team! This is a great joy for me! Before I can show the projects created with a newest collections – let me show you what I created some time ago using one of the previous Glitz collections: Afternoon Muse. I just love it! I know I’m known for using mostly pastels, but those juicy colors steal my heart! I thought it would fit perfectly to create a page with a summer photo of my daughter.
I really like to create layers on my pages and I like the most when my layers have decorative edges, which is why I often use edge punches to give a beautiful papers even greater brilliance. Here we are a few layers made with lace edges.

I also created a frame that is the decoration of my craft desk. Inspired by the motto, which I found on one of the Whatnots cards – something I created on a daily basis to improve my mood ;) “All Good Thing Are Wild And Free”, right? Imagine that I used for decoration only Whatnots cards, they are extremely inspiring! From old cardboard I cut out parts of my frame, painted it white with acrylic paint and glued elements mimic the old shabby chic frame. It’s amazingly easy way to create your own frame for free :)

Inside I created a few different layers using 3d tape for better dimension. I LOVE layers! With Whatnots it’s so easy, but that is a fact that you know, right?

Thank you for visiting the Glitz blog today! I hope you have a wonderful and creative week!

Set the Stamps aside with Iwona Palamountain

I’ve been playing with some Glitz goodies, while waiting impatiently for the postman to bring me the CHA releases! Boy, I can’t wait!!

While the new lines are calling my name, I still can’t get enough of the previous collections. I love that with so many different elements I can mix & match to my heart’s content, and never ink up any stamp. Heheh.
Well, I can, of course, Glitz Design carries some fabulous stamps too, but I do enjoy the convenience of having everything I need ready to be peeled off/stuck on and admired :)

Here’s one of my cards, made with the fabby Afternoon Muse collection. There’s a fine mix of elements on it, but they match perfectly.

Dance in Sunshine layouts with Jolaine Frias

Hello everyone! I was so happy to get the opportunity to play with the beautiful Dance in Sunshine collection. I just love the yellow, grey, teal and purple hues in this collection with a hint of girly grunge, totally reminds me of autumn!

I created this LO with a photo taken last year while pumpkin picking at a nearby farm. Dylan is so cute here with his head full of curls!

I used a screen to mist the paper with brown mist in opposing corners to add interest. I also added flowers, Stickles and machine stitching.

I layered a ton of beautiful embellies from the Dance In Sunshine collection along with flowers, chipboard and punched borders accented with Stickles.

Sweet Life Journal & Card with Michelle Philippi

A lot of people see patterns and fashion and pretty scenery and use that as their inspiration when they are creating something. I’m not one of those people. I don’t know what that means – if it’s a left brain/right brain thing or what, but when I sit down to create, my inspiration or my roadmap really does come from the product that I am working with. And when I got my box of all the new Glitz stuff I had a bunch of ideas comin’ at me right and left.
The first idea? Use the Glitz chipboard album and make something with it.
Whoa. I’ve never done this before! So what I decided to do was go big or go home. I actually combined the Vintage Blue and the Dance in Sunshine albums to make one big one.

I added in some large glassine bags as pockets to store some keepsakes in this little album.
And then I embellished both sides of the bag with pretty Glitz peek-a-boos, whatnots, stickers and more.

Sweet Layouts with Audrey Yeager

Audrey here today to share some more layouts with some NEW and past Glitz goodness.

I loved the warm tones of this photo of my daughter, so I wanted to highlight that with the same color combo on my page, with a few hints of black and white.  (The title of my page has to do with the fact that I can always tell that the wheels in her head are “spinning”, and she is calculating and thinking how to get away with things!  :)  )

The golden yellow paper didn’t have much pattern in it, so I stamped lightly with a notebook pattern stamp and a postage pattern stamp in black and brown.

To create the tears in my page, I laid out where I wanted my photo, and then just sliced a few lines around it with an exacto knife to start the tears.  I then folded and rolled by the slits to expose another piece of patterned paper beneath.

I made the flowers using a paper rose tutorial much like THIS ONE, but with different punches.  I added a bit of stickles to give them some sparkle.

On Wednesday of last week, I got an AWESOME package on my doorstep!  A huge box of new Glitz Designs latest releases!  They are all so absolutely beautiful!

I have been saving these photos specifically to use on a page with the Beautiful Dreamer line, but I used a lot of the blues and yellows from the Vintage Blue line, too.  So many of the phrase and sayings in these lines are gonna be perfect for all my baby photos and photos of my little girl. On the journaling tag, the writing area was a bit darker, so instead I printed my journaling on vellum and cut it to fit inside the tag.

Thanks for joining me today!  I can’t wait to dig into some more of the new goodies!!!

Thanks & Hello cards with Laurie Schmidlin

I don’t know about you, but I seem to always be in need of birthday and thank you cards!  I try to keep a stash of several of each kind so that I have them ready when the need arises.    So when I sat down to stamp, I knew that I wanted to start replenishing my stash!
  GD Thanks
For my first card, I started with some super fun Glitz paper (from the Scarlett Collection).  A stamped centerpiece, some simple embellishments, and a couple of decorative borders and my card was finished!
GD Well Hey There
Ooooh how I love Glitz’s Love Nest Collection!  Talk about vintage yumminess!!  Happy sigh…

Here I started with the Love Nest Damask paper and added on a Whatnot (which I embossed the sentiment on), Cardstock Sticker, and some decorative Rub Ons.

I’m so glad you could join me here today!  I hope your day is filled with the things you love!  ~Laurie
