A Princess & her Dad with Karola Witczak

Hello everyone! It’s Karola here with another Glitz inspirations! For today I created two layouts – as usual, but one of them is very special for me. As we have fantastic challenge this month…
I was inspired by the theme and decided to create a layout about my hubby and our daughter. This photo is the one of my favorites, then she was very tiny, only a few months old, and he… oh.. he was so young! It’s funny to look at his face when he started to be a Father and he was SO proud! Now we have a 7 years old Princess and he is still so proud of being a Dad for her – so precious!
For my layout I combined French Kiss and Happy Travels collections. I was a little bit inspired by a dark green from the rose’s leaves which I found on one of the Peek-A-Boo’s elements and decided to add more green to my page. As you can see – Peek-A-Boo’s are importnat elements in this composition. Can I say that I totally love to use them? I know you’ll love these beautiful transparencies too!
As always – a few layers, some details… it is what I really love in Glitz embellies – so easy to use and very versatile!
The second layout is all girly! It’s of course because of lots of pink here and there, but mostly because I used a funny photos of Rose, taken a few weeks ago. I take the title from one of the papers from Pretty In Pink collection – what to say more? She really looks lovely this day! I used mainly Pretty In Pink line with a little bit of Happy Travels gorgeous light turquoise paper to make my page a little bit fresh. I also used lots of Pretty In Pink Glitzers – love these transparent and shiny stickers – very girly and classy!

Celebrating Dad with Jolaine Frias

Hello everyone! I hope your summer is going great. As you know, we are all creating with fathers or with the important boys and men in our lives in mind this month for the blog challenge.

When I set out to create a layout for this challenge, I immediately thought of pulling brown and neutral papers but the photo I wanted to use was so fun and bright that I ended up going with the more cheerful goodies in the Pretty In Pink collection. This is what I created…

If you have the Lotus Pendants die from Spellbinders, you’ll be happy to know that the round Glitzers fit perfectly inside to create the most beautiful embellishments for your pages! Here’s a couple of close-ups.

My second page was created with the beautiful teals and reds in the Happy Travels collection. I just can’t get enough of this versatile range!

I cut out the flowers in the Bicycle paper to accent my mulberry flowers and really love the result. Here’s a closer look…

I also did some stamping on the background. To get a random look, use a baby wipe to soften the ink around the edges of your stamp.

Thanks so much for stopping by our blog today. I hope you found some inspiration and remember, there’s still some time to enter the blog challenge!

Special Guys with Audrey Yeager

This months blog challenge at Glitz Design is of course to celebrate the men in your life.

It isn’t often that I can get photos of my hubby, and when I do, he is usually not looking at the camera and is with one of the kids.  So I will take what I can get!  Here is a layout about my special guys….
I have been into a “triangle” kick lately and I decided I want to use them on both layouts this month.  On this first page about my guys, I used some large scraps of papers as masks to create triangles in a ray formation.  I first covered my background with a bit of white paint (because the mist sticks to it differently than when you just spray directly on paper).  I marked a center point of my ray burst in the top left corner of my page, and then lined up two pieces of scrap paper to create a triangle.  I misted with two different colors of mist-one a teal blue and the other a greenish-blue.

I added some strips of paper and some stitching to some of the rays.  I did some simple embellishing with What-Nots and some Epoxy Stickers.

This next page is one of my favorites of late.  I wanted to do a twist on the traditional ‘banner’, so I just hand cut out a bunch of triangles and scattered them on the page in a falling pattern.  I machine stitched across the top of each triangle.

The orange and red papers I pulled from the old Olivia collection from Glitz (circa 2009, I think).  I did a recent purge of my papers and found these and thought they would go perfect with the red and orange theme of my daughters birthday (red and orange for Elmo, of course).

I added just a few embellishments and papers around my photo to help draw your eye to that area of the page.

Introducing Two New Glitz Design DT Members!!

Hey there, everyone!!   Today we are saying goodbye and hello to some design team members.  First off- we are saying goodbye to Tracie Hudson from the layouts team, and Iwona Palamountain from the cards team.  Thanks to both of you for the great work you did for Glitz Design!!  We will miss you a lot!

With that being said, we have two new design team members to introduce to you today!! First up is our newest addition to the cards team – Teresa Kline!

Teresa’s Blog – Paperie Blooms

Hi, I am Teresa Kline and I am one happy gal to be joining the Glitz team; this is so exciting! I am happily married, my husband Gary is truly my #1 fan. He is super supportive and encourages me to create and to keep moving forward. I have been creating for about seven years; I have been very blessed to be apart of many design teams, guest positions, and a SCS dirty dozen girl. I create mainly cards, but also like to alter and try new things. I adore all things girly; lace, bling, stitching, buttons and anything shabby/chic. I enjoy sending a handmade card to those who need encouraging or need a smile. I look forward to being apart of the Glitz team and can’t wait to see what the future holds!

And here is our latest addition to the layouts team – Gerry VanGent!!

Gerry’s Blog – Gerry’s Crafts

My name is Gerry. I`m 38 years old Bulgarian woman who lives in The Netherlands. Married to Arjen – my supportive Dutch hubby. Together we “created” ;-) two adorable kids – Alexander (8) and Leanne (4). They are my inspiration and the reason to get involved into paper crafting. I`m so lucky to have the chance to stay at home and take care of my children, to watch them grow and enjoy everyday life with them.

Being stay-at-home mom gives me opportunity also to spend time with my photo camera and play with beautiful paper crafting products. My work is always detailed and dimensional. I love stamping, playing with paint, hand-stitching and fussy-cutting.

I`m so happy and honored to be part of Glitz Design family!

So, please give our newest members are warm welcome!  You are going to love what they create with Glitz Design products!!!

Romantic Glitz cards with Laurie Schmidlin

One of my most favorite things about Glitz papers is the elegant yet vintage designs!  They lend themselves so well to many different kinds of designs, especially soft & romantic!

GD Yet to Be

For my first card, I used three different patterns of paper (all form the French Kiss line).  I used a Whatnot for the focal image and an epoxy sticker for the sentiment.  I embellished it with flowers, ribbon, buttons, and another epoxy sticker!

GD Yet to Be (Close-Up)

Here’s a close-up photo of the vintage looking epoxy sticker I used for embellishment (from the French Kiss line).

GD Reserved For

For my second card, I used papers and a Layered Sticker from the Pretty in Pink line.  I chose papers with more of a neutral look and added in some pink in my embellishments.

Thanks so much for joining me here today!  ~Laurie
