Beautifully Digital with Karola Witczak

Hello everyone, it’s Karola here with my two special layouts to share with you today! Why these are special?  Because I did it again! yes – this time I created 2 totally digital pages for my today’s blog post!
I hope you will inspired and I highly encourage you to playing with Glitz Design Digi Kits! There are a few reasons why digi scrapping is cool and sometimes is good to create something digi, mine reasons are:

  • you don’t have a mess on your crafty desk!
  • you can resize elements! (try this with a real paper or real chipboard! These are NOT flexible, huh?)
  • you can re- color elements to fit with your photos!
  • you can create a page and immediately send it to your family or friends, or publish it in online gallery, you no need to take photos of your project!
  • you can try to design a page with digi kit first, then you can see how it looks like and you can repeat whole arrangement using traditional papers and elements!
Okay, enough reasons, just take a look at final effect. My first layout presents my daughter on the swing. A long time ago I played with photo actions and filters and recolored this photo onto turquoise shades, so I decided to use it with Happy Travels Digital Kit – love these colors and patterns! As I mentioned before you can resize digi elements to size what you need. I did it and this way I have a “Paper Layers” elements and stickers bigger than usual – great way to create an interesting background and layers on your digi page!
The second layout is amazingly sweet, I wanted to create a very girly and very sweet, pink layout. Photo of Rose and Pretty In Pink Digi Kit – turned out as a perfect couple! This time I also resized elements and used another technique: I cut out roses from the vintage frame, resized it and use as an additional elements!

More Love Cards with Teresa Kline

Hello everyone, I am back with another set of “love” cards to share with you today.  We could all use a little more love in our lives, if for no other reason to share it with someone else!  Let’s start creating and share the love.

All the elements of this card are from the French Kiss line, the paper, the card stock sticker…luv, and the gorgeous rhinestones.  I went with a gray, green(my favorite color), and neutral color combo.  It pairs together nicely, I think.  Using the Glitz card stock stickers makes it super easy to create a great card in a short period of time.  I framed it with a piece of card stock cut with a shaped background, the shaped edges, seam binding ribbon, and flower complete my card.

Supplies Used:
Glitz Design Paper:  French Kiss
Glitz Design Card Stock Stickers:  French Kiss Titles
Glitz Design French Kiss: Giant Rhinestones

For my second card I went with classic color combo of pink and black, and paired them with kraft.  A sweet girly favorite of mine.

For this card I used the adorable Pretty In Pink line, swooon…a perfect match!  I have used the love sentiment stamp from the Love Games set to stamp onto the card stock journaling sticker.  I used a piece of corrugated cardboard spritzed with Mr Huey’s white mist for the background of my journaling card.  Well, this is the last of my “love” cards for the month, I hope you where inspired to create and share some love!

Supplies Used:
Glitz Design Paper:  Pretty In Pink
Glitz Design Love Games:  Clear Stamps
Glitz Design Card Stock Stickers:  Pretty In Pink Journaling
Glitz Design Pretty In Pink:  Giant Rhinestones

I hope you have a day filled with “love”!

Have a wonderful day, be sure to sprinkle it with a little Glitz!

Pretty in Pink with Jolaine Frias

Hello there, Jolaine here! While I wait to play with the gorgeous new releases, I thought I’d share with you a couple of creations with Pretty In Pink, one of my favorite Glitz collections.

I created this layout using a photo of my daughter I recently took while on vacation. Love how the pink polka dot paper balance out the otherwise vintage and grungy browns.

To add a fun element to my page, I punched a few banners and placed them on my layout. I also included a few sprinkles of French Kiss embellishments. That’s what I like aobut Glitz Design, all of the collections work very well together. Here’s a closer look…

For my next project, I created a wall hanging. As you know, Glitz is well known for having inspirational quotes in their stamps and stickers and I was inspired by the empowering message in one of the title stickers.

Thanks so much for your visit today! Have a happy scrappy time :)

Fabulous Minis with Audrey Yeager

This month we got to do something that wasn’t our “norm”.  I mostly create layouts, but I like to create mini albums, too….I just don’t do them nearly as much as I would like.  So I challenged myself to make some this month! This post has a LOT of photo, so bear with me!

This first album was actually inspired by the Glitz Pretty In Pink Whatnots.  This pack contains die cuts that are numbered 1-12. Since my little guy just turned 1 in , I thought they would be perfect for for a mini showing a photo from each month of this life since the day he was born.

For the cover, I covered the chipboard album cover with tulle to tone down the print a bit.  I splatted some paint in shade of blue, added a transparency, my title, some stickers and stars.

I traced the shape of the happy Travels chipboard album onto some papers for the photos, and then added the die cuts in between the pages to number them.
On each page, I splattered the background with some blue paint, and then I added some simple banners made of paper.  I used a stamping tool to stamp sewing lines and added a few sentiment stickers.
Supplies:
Chipboard Album: Happy Travels
Whatnots: Pretty In Pink
Papers: Vintage Blue, Happy Travels, French Kiss, Pretty In Pink, Dance in the Sunshine
Epoxy Stickers: French Kiss, Happy Travels, Pretty In Pink, Vintage Blue
Trims: Vintage Blue, Dance In the Sunshine
Peek-A-Boos: Pretty In Pink, Dance in the Sunshine, Laced with Grace

This 2nd album I started in my head a long time ago when I got my first pack of Glitz Whatnots (I think it was from a kit club that I subscribed to at the time).  There were some great phrases on some of the die cuts.  At first I was going to make some type of wall decor, but as time went on, I kept piling up all of the Glitz goodies that had phrases that I loved.  I kept everything in one bag and decided it was time to put it in an album.

The album covers are Whatnot pieces backed with pattern paper.  I stitched some Tulle on the edges of the front and back covers to act as a binding (although the pages are held together with twine, too).  Some paint, transparency, stickers and die cuts on the front.

The pages are a mix of Paper Layers, Whatnots, and Peek-A-Boos.I was originally just going to have a book of the sayings, but after I put all the pages together, I had to add in some photos of my kiddos.  I picked 5 of my daughter and 5 of my son that are my favorites from the past few months.  I stitched around each photo and added a butterfly to each page.

Supplies:
Paper Layers: Vintage Blue, Dance in the Sunshine, Pretty In Pink, Laced With Grace, Happy Travels, French Kiss
Trims: Dance in the Sunshine, Beautiful Dreamer, Vintage Blue
Whatnots: Beautiful Dreamer, Dance In the Sunshine, Laced with Grace, Vintage Blue, Happy Travels
Peek-A-Boos: Beautiful Dreamer, Dance In the Sunshine, Laced with Grace, Vintage Blue
Papers: Laced With Grace
Stickers: Dance In the Sunshine. Vintage Blue

Phew this was a LONG post!  It feels so good to get these minis done!!  Hope you enjoyed!

Embellishing your Cards with Laurie Schmidlin

Hi there!  It’s my turn to share some Glitz cards!  I think one of my favorite things about the different Glitz Collections is that there are so many different coordinating products!  It’s no secret that I adore the Whatnots (I used one on my first card), but the new Layered Stickers are equally wonderful.  Oh, and the Epoxy Words, Giant Rhinestones, and Glitzers (I could never leave out the Glitzers!) are all fun as well!  My only problem is deciding which embellishments to use!  :-)

GD For the Record

It might be hard to tell from the photo, but I layered some stitched circles in a zig zag pattern on top of a Pretty in Pink Paper Layer.

GD Post Card

For my second card, I grunged up background by stamping directly onto the patterned paper and then dry brushed on some ivory acrylic paint.  I then added some more patterned paper (strips of striped Happy Travels paper), a Cardstock Sticker, a Layered Sticker, and an epoxy heart (from the Epoxy Words).

Thanks so much for joining me here today!  Have a fabulous day!  ~Laurie

Home Sweet Home Decor Set with Kristii Lockart

Good Morning sweet friends!!  Most of you have never been to my home and I would be embarrassed to have you visit.  I’m a paper crafter and yet, my walls are pretty bare.  In all honesty, I’ve made quite a few wall art pieces over the past year, but they have all sold as fast as I’ve made them, which is a good thing for sure!!  However, bare walls are not a good thing.  Today’s post features some items I’ve made with my favorite Glitz Design papers from the winter release, Happy Travels!!  The teal and red colors are perfect for home decor! The first piece is a fun little Home Sweet Home Banner:

I layered some rustic cream pennants with a smaller teal pennant and added a sweet little doily and house die cut.  The loopy bows are made with Happy Travels papers, twine and rolled flowers.  So easy to make and very festive to hang!

You can see all the dimension in the bows from this angle!! I love them!  I made a matching little primitive piece of wall art:

based on the verse – “Love your neighbor as yourself”.  I hand-cut the houses and added a cute little Happy Travels Glitzer.

For the final piece in the grouping, I took some old blocks that my son used to play with years ago and stacked them like houses and added die cut letters for the “God Bless Our Home” quote.  Way fun and so very cost effective!!!

I adhered the letters with Zip Dry so I can change the letters at any time without any damage to the blocks.  I’m really liking this simple way to dress up a shelf and the cost totally fit in my summer budget!

Here’s the whole ensemble together:

Now I have some color on my walls!! Whooo hooooo!  I just love it when it all comes together!!

Step by Step Saturday with Lisa Andrews

This summer our family and some friends spent some time at the beach in Mexico. I wanted to create a little album that could hold my favorite pictures from the trip. While we were at the beach, we collected a bunch of seashell and I thought that it would be cool in incorporate those into my scrapbook project. I had an empty jar sitting in my scrapbook room and the idea came to me that I should combine the shells and a little scrapbook into one project.

I built the mini album in the jar using a few different Happy Travels Glitz Designs papers. Here’s a look at how the project came together.

1. The base of this album was built just using pieces of patterned paper. Each page was cut to 5″ X 2.5″. (The finished album size is 2.5″ X 2.5″.)

2. After cutting the pages, I scored them down the middle and folded them in half.

3. Next, I punched holes along the center creases of each paper. The holes are about 1/3″ from the edge of the paper.

4. To bind the album, I stacked all of the punched papers on top of each other and threaded a piece of baker’s twine onto a needle. I then used the needle to thread it through the holes and tied the twine to hold the pages together.

5. Now that the base of the album was assembled, I printed out 25 of my favorite trip photos so that they were each 2 X 2 inches.

6. The fun part was adding the pictures and embellishments to the pages. I added some stickers, used stamps and did a few patterned paper embellishments.

7. With the mini album assembled, I added a background picture to the jar and backed it with a piece of patterned paper so that the jar would look pretty from all sides.

8. After the background picture was added to the jar, I added a few of the seashells that we collected with on our trip to the bottom of the jar. I didn’t fill it too mach because I wanted to leave room for the album plus a bit of the picture to show through.

9. The finished project with be something fun to display and I like that it is interactive because of the little album inside of the jar.

This was such a fun project I think I’ll do it again with another vacation. The jar would be a great place to hold brochures and ticket stubs collected on a trip and the mini album can highlight a few favorite photos.

Using Gesso on Layouts with Camilla Ekman

Hi all! Camilla here today with two layouts. The first one is made with the Happy Travels collection, perfect for soft boyish layouts – the blue and beige looks awesome together. The title “I carry your heart with me” is from one of the cardstock stickers. I cut the edges to make it a banner. I dabbed a bit of gesso on the papers to make them a bit white washed.

Other: flowers and bling (Prima), lace, ribbon, pin

The next layout is made with the Pretty in Pink collection – soft pink papers but a bit edgy with the black. I made a girlish page for my daughter. A bit of paper tearing and a bit of gesso added.

Love Cards with Teresa Kline

Hi peeps, I am so happy about my creations this month; I went with a theme of “love”!  I cannot help myself, I am a hopeless romantic *grin*.  I am in aaahhhh with the Glitz Designs, they come together perfectly for the card maker or scrapbooker.

I have used The Happy Travels papers to make this romantic happiness card; I paired it with the stamp set Vintage Blue.  It makes a perfect combo, don’t ya think?  I have used some of my favorite things, twine, stitching, and of course distressing.  The French Kiss giant gemstone fits perfectly inside the flower and is just the right touch.

Supplies Used:
Glitz Design Paper:  Happy Travels
Glitz Design Vintage Blue:  Clear Stamps
Glitz Design French Kiss:  Giant Rhinestones

For my other “love” card I went with warm tones and the touch of black make this one a bit more classy.  It is so easy bringing all of the different Glitz elements together to make endless creations!

I used embossing, wide lace trim, and seam binding ribbon to make this one a little more rich looking.  The bold colors of the burgundy and black really makes this one pop.  I luv using the tiny alpha to make my own words; these are perfect for sentiments, a tag, or just and extra pop of sumin sumin where you want it.

Supplies Used:
Glitz Design Paper:  French Kiss
Glitz Design French Kiss: Layered Stickers
Glitz Design Happy Travels:  Giant Rhinestones
Glitz Design Teeny Alpha:  Charcoal

So glad you stopped by to check out my Glitz Creations!

Have a wonderful day, be sure to sprinkle it with a little Glitz!
