Halloween Treat Boxes with Laurie Schmidlin

Hi friends!  Today I have a couple of sweet little Halloween treat boxes to share with you!  Although Glitz doesn’t have a Halloween themed collection, many of their papers work beautifully for this holiday!

GD Boo Box

For my first box, I created a Jack-O-Lantern treat box using some Laced With Grace paper, a Scarlett Glitzer, and some Teeny Alpha stickers!  I added a French Kiss Giant Rhinestone for a finishing touch.  I used my Silhouette Cameo (and a shape from the Silhouette store) to cut out the box.  Glitz papers cut wonderfully…they are thick enough that the paper doesn’t tear, but not too thick that it still cuts cleanly!

GD Spooky Box

My second box is fun little bat shaped treat holder that features paper form the Love Games collection.  I added some googlie eyes for a fun, whimsical look.  :-)  Again, I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the box.

GD Spooky Box 2

For the tag, I used a Dance in Sunshine Glitzer and some Teeny Alpha stickers.

These were such quick and easy projects…perfect for mass producing!  I plan on using these for my son’s class treats, but they would also be great for neighbor gifts or party favors!

Thanks so much for joining me here today!  ~Laurie

Shabby Chic & Trendy with Rommel Okuma

Hi guys! Rommel is here today to share some project, hope you like it! Today I want to share two pages, completely different! Let’s see the first one:

A shabby/girlie page, using a bunch of flowers, sparkles and many many details, like frames and flags. I really love to create this kind of page (thank God I have two nieces with nice photos!! haha). The frame which I wrote the journaling is a cardstock sticker, that I fussy cut. See more details:

Rhinestones appear so vintage… don’t you think the same?! I love it!

And now, one more page. See that we can play with different styles, using Glitz Design collections:

I made a geometric page, full of trends: like strips, arrows, and more! The tip here is working with different sizes of photos. I cut out my photo in a tag format. It’s so cool! Look here:

The tags, made with paper layers, stamps, epoxy words and glitzers:

More details from the tags:

I really love some amazing hours working in this page, ’cause this is not a kind of style a use to play! I really l thought outside the box for this project! LOL

Hope you love it to!!! :)

Happy Halloween Cards with Kristii Lockart

Hi again dear friends!! It’s time for another Glitz Design post!!  I don’t know about you, but I have a few  Glitz Design patterned paper scraps that need to be used up.  This month’s challenge is to make Halloween goodies and I want to take the challenge a step further and encourage you to use your scraps! In my first card for today I found some of my favorite Afternoon Muse and Laced with Grace papers and made a sweet little Jack O Lantern with them:

I die cut the pumpkin sections and cut around the edge of the negative image.  I layered the negative image over the Afternoon Muse Polka paper and I love how it looks!  Polka Dot pumpkins totally make me smile!!  I adhered the eyes and mouth with dimensional adhesive to give his face a little pop!  I used some leaf stamps and a Tim Holtz Bird stamp to add some dimension and variety to the card!! Don’t you just love the music notes on the bird?  Sigh….so perfect!!

Supplies Used:
Glitz Design Afternoon Music Polka Patterned Paper
Glitz Design Laced with Grace Polka Patterned Paper
Other Supplies:  PTI Rustic Cream and True Black Cardstock; PTI Leaf Prints Stamps; PTI On the Farm Stamps; Tim Holtz Artful Flight Stamps; PTI Orange Zest Ribbon

In the next card I used an acrylic card base.  I love creating layers with acrylic card bases!!  The dimension you can achieve is absolutely amazing!!

I layered a rustic cream panel on top of a black panel and adhered the layered panels to the inside of the card.  I cut a slightly smaller Vintage Blue Floral Panel and adhered a circle punched from Dance in Sunshine Polka paper, stamped the sentiment, and adhered them to the inside of the card front along with a scary punched fence and pumpkin.  The layered effect is fabulous!!!

On the face of the card I adhered a die cut tree, a bird and pumpkin that were painted with Clear Rock Candy Crackle Paint.  I added a bow just for fun.  Such a quick and easy card and so very effective!!

Supplies Used:
Glitz Design Dance In Sunshine Polka Patterned Paper
Glitz Design Vintage Blue Floral Patterned Paper
Glitz Design Love Games Polka Paper
Other Supplies: Clear Acrylic; Tim Holtz Branch Tree; Tim Holtz Artful Flight Stamps; PTI Friendship Jar Fall Fillers Stamps; Prickley Pear Leaf die; Martha Stewart Fence Punch; PTI Rustic Cream and True Black Paper; PTI Simply Chartreuse Felt;

I hope I’ve encouraged you to get creative with your card scraps.  Mix and Match them and have some fun!!!

Wishing you a Glitzy Day,

Kristii

Share Your Glitz Projects with us!!

Happy Sunday, everyone!!  Lea Lawson checking in, and I wanted to share another card I made this week using the Hello Friend collection (seriously….I think I am a little obsessed with this collection)!  I really wanted to showcase the new crepe trim for you, because I know that I was a little bit intimidated by it at first!  Now that I have used it on something…I can’t WAIT to break it out again.  It just looks so pretty and soft on projects!  Check it out!

It was really quite easy to use!  I just cut two strips of it, then layered one over the other to my card front.  I used hot glue to attach it, and just added the glue to the stitched seam, where it happens to be a little thicker.  Super easy, and adds beautiful & feminine texture to your project!

“I Just Call You Mine” supplies:
Hello Friend “Bokeh” 12×12 paper
Hello Friend Crepe Trim
Hello Friend Title Stickers
Pretty In Pink Giant Rhinestones
Vintage Blue Trim
Other: Bazzill cardstock, Prima flowers & velvet trinket, Maya Road trinket pins, Kaisercraft pearls, Creative Memories corner rounder, sandpaper

Don’t forget that we really want to see your Glitz Design creations as well!  Our brand new collections have just hit all the stores, and we are dying to see what you create with them!  But remember that we also want to see what you have done with our past collections!  Link any new creations from the month of October below, and you will also be put into the running for our monthly giveaway.  So go and get your Glitz on!!

Scrapbooking School Photos with Camilla Ekman

Hey everyone! Camilla here with two new layouts. I decided to scrap the school photos of my kids from this year. For my son I chose the lovely Happy travels collection because it suited his clothes so well. And then I finished it off with some red to make the page pop.

Glitz Design Happy Travels Paper Layers
Other: flowers and leaves (Prima), resin piece (Prima), doilies, gesso, border punches (Martha Stewart), bling swirls (Prima), alpha (Prima)

Then I scrapped the school photo of my daughter and chose the cute Pretty in Pink to add some colours to her neutral clothes. Lots of layers in this layout.

Pumpkins & Fall with Teresa Kline

Happy Fall!  I adore the fall, it is my favorite season; the sounds, the smells, and the gorgeous bold colors.  Nothing goes better with a crisp fall morning than coffee, wouldn’t ya say?  I have made a sweet little gift card holder (Starbucks of course…teehehehe) to give to that special someone.

I luv this paper!  I have used the French Kiss paper and ran it through my Silhouette to cut the cute pumpkin.  The paper looks just like burlap, don’t ya think?  I used a sweet glassine bag, covered it with some of my favorite embellishments, lace, ribbon, button, and the tiny clothes pin.

Here is the gift bag with the Starbucks gift card peeking through, so very sweet!  A pumpkin muffin is also a must with your coffee.

Supplies Used:
Glitz Design Paper:  French Kiss

My second card is screaming fall to me too.  The gorgeous colors, the bike image on the Glitz paper and the Glitz pennant stamp all have a vintage feel.

The epoxy sticker reads “happy”; not sure how well you can see that in the picture.  I sponged around the pennants to give it a tattered look.  Finished it with some stitching, burlap string, and ribbon.  I hope my cards today inspire you and I wish you a very happy fall!

Have a wonderful day, be sure to sprinkle it with a little Glitz!

Supplies Used:
Glitz Design Clear Stamps:  Love Games
Glitz Design papers:  Happy Travels
Glitz Design Paper Layers: French Kiss

Glitz Design Epoxy Words:  Pretty In Pink

Using Digital Elements with Nicole Martel

Hello ladies. Nicole here with a few fun layouts. For my first layout I decided to go hybrid again. I love the Happy Travels digital collection; it’s one of my all time favorite collections. After I completed the layout, I found it funny how much it looks like a fall layout, but it’s really a summer layout :) This was a super quick and easy layout. I simply printed all of the digital whatnots and labels on plain cardstock, printed them out and cut them to use as my background papers.

Supplies:
Glitz Design: “Happy Travels” digital elements
American Crafts: Cardstock
American Crafts: Foam Alphas
Zva Creative: Flower
Zva Creative: Jewels
Jenni Bowlin: Butterfly Punch
Creative Memories: Corner rounder
Gluedots: Adhesives
Creative Memories: Pen/Adhesives

And here is another layout where I used digital elements from the Happy Travels digital collection. I printed the transparancy swirl onto a letter  sized cardstock and used it as my base!  I am so impressed with the quality of my printer. You can hardly tell the difference from regular paper vs. digital.

Supplies:
Glitz Design: “Happy Travels”digital elements
American Crafts: Cardstock
American Crafts: Thickers
Zva Creative: Jewels
Zva Creative: Flower
May Arts: Burlap
Jenni Bowlin: Butterfly Punch
Creative Memories: Corner rounder, Heart punch
Creative Memories: Adhesives
Creative Memories: Pen

Thanks for visiting and please come back again! Hope you have a fabulous day!

Never ever give up hope card with Lea Lawson

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Lea Lawson here today to share a sweet little card all about hope!!  As you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. So, I created a card of encouragement that could be given to any woman going through this disease, or any type of hardship.  I used the Glitz Design “Hello Friend” collection for my card, and let me just say….it couldn’t have been more perfect.  This line is all about friendship & encouragement & love, and just full of pink.  Here is what I created!

I think one of the greatest things that we can offer someone going through hard times is our friendship & support.  Being down on hard times isn’t as bad when you have someone to share the burden with.

I hope you liked my little encouragement card today, and don’t forget to link up your latest Glitz Design creations!!  We would love to see them!!

Never Ever Give Up Hope supplies:
