Thankful for A Miracle with Karola Witczak

Hello everyone! It’s Karola here with some new Glitz projects for you!
As we have “Gratitude” theme for this month I thought very long how to interpret this theme. I decided on the simple solution – I created two pages which are about how I am grateful for a miracle a fate gave me – my fantastic daughter Rose.
The first page “Thank you for your smile” I created using the very beautiful Cashmere Dame collection, full of vivid colours, fitting both to the women’s theme as well as joyfully children’s pages. A very colourful layout in which you will find the plenty of Glitz various products, from Paper Layers, Peek-a-Boos, Journaling Stickers, Teeny Alphas and Whatnots and of course – papers!
The second page I created using the Yours Truly collection, it turned out that one of the latest autumn photos of Rose perfectly suited here. I am loving warm colours and romantic patterns of this collection – is perfect to create projects about the family as well as for keeping all your autumn memories. Here I also created quite a lot of layers, adding various stunning Glitz products – is  this owl from Whatnots cards not charming? My title “I love you” is a one from Paper Layers, usually I adore to use them as a photo matting, here I found the additional option for them. I cut also a few flowers out from patterned paper – it is one of my favourite techniques and papers from the Yours Truly collection are perfect for it.

Good morning Glitz fans, I have two more cards to share on gratitude and I have made these cards in all of my friend’s honor.  I adore the whatnots pack for the collection Cashmere Dame, I so luv the quote on the card!

I have distressed the card, folded down the corner and added stitching, this card came together super easy and quick!  The tiny tags i have tied around the bow, have been stamped with one of the new stamp sets called Yours Truly, a cute way to embellish!

My second card is CAS and I luv it….teehehehe!  I adore the colors of this paper pack and the the design of the tape.  The new Glitz tape is what I used on the banners, so cute!

I have die cut the hearts using the Hello Friend design paper an then sponged around the edges.  I adore the stamp from the Cashmere dame set, I used the circle punch to punch it pout and then layered it with a scalloped circle punch.  I finished it with a burlap bow and a couple of cute buttons.  I hope you are inspired and ready to shop too…*grin*…you don’t want to miss out on the sweet new Glitz goodies!

Fall Beauty with Jolaine Frias

Hello there! I hope you’re all having a fantastic fall season. Though Thanksgiving was last week, you may still be wanting to create some family and ‘thankful’ pages for your album. I was excited to look though my Glitz stash to find items that would remind me of the beautiful colors we see in nature this time of the year.

My first layout was created using mostly papers from the Joyeux Noel collection (not just for Christmas, this collection is soooo versatile!) and a couple of floral picks I found in the clearance section of my local craft store.

The vibrant green color in the Floral and Stripe papers worked really well with the floral pick. Since I don’t store my layouts in page protectors, I’m really not concerned about the page being too bulky, but if you are, choose a pick without berries and pine cones. That is one easy way to make the supplies you already have fit any theme! Here’s a closer look…

For my second layout, I wanted to scrap one of my favorite photos of my children. The warm yellow and neutral grey tones in the Yours Truly collection were the perfect backdrop for my picture.

I chose to journal right on the pattern paper. I find that I’m more likely to record my thoughts if I don’t fuss too much about it with tags and hidden tabs.

That’s it for today! I hope I’ve inspired you to use your Glitz products in non-traditional ways to scrap any seasonal theme.

Inspired by Black & White with Janna Werner

Hello there, it´s Janna with two scrapbooking pages. Both layouts have the same theme: gratitude. The top layout is about me being grateful to be married to the best man ever, Jesper, my husband of 2.5 years. We had a long-distance relationship in the beginning with him living in Denmark and me in Germany. Gladly he moved to Germany very fast and we haven´t been separated for more than 7 days in a row since then.

The second layout is about traveling. I am thankful for being able to travel whenever and wherever I like. I know that not everyone has this opportunity. It´s not that I really travel a lot, it´s more that I can, if I want to.

I decided to go with a black/white color scheme (adding a hint of color on the top layout) as I am very attracted to black/white recently. I also created a Pinterest board where I am collecting lots of black and white inspiration… did you know, that you can find Glitz Design on Pinterest as well?
To me the b/w color scheme fits the theme “gratitude” very well, as it is calm, elegant and graceful. There are of course a lot more things, I am thankful for, but these two are really very important to me. Let us know, what you are grateful for.

Happy Kids with Audrey Yeager

Hello everyone, Audrey here! When I opened up my box of new Glitz goodies, I didn’t know where to begin!  Everything is just so amazing in the latest release!!!

When browsing through all the supplies, I came across one of the Paper Layers from the Cashmere Dame line that was scattered with some diamond prints.  That was the inspiration for the rest of my page.
I used some of the cloud stamps in the “Hello Friend” collection, and stamped with a light brown ink on my background paper.  Because I was using a fall photo, I wanted to something that had a “fall” feel to it, so I used some burlap ribbon to add some texture.  I added some molding paste to the page and then pressed the burlap into it, removed it, and I got a great texture on the background.
Then I used the ribbon as a layer under my photo.  I cut some starburst/flower shapes from my Cricut and used those as accents on the page.  Finally, I added machine stitching here and there.

Next I created a page using mostly the Hello Friend collection. Sometimes my kids pretend to be “friends”…:)
On my background, I used a stencil and some more modeling paste to add some texture and tone down the pattern on the paper a bit.  The little potty people are from the Glitzers stickers and I put them on some paper and cut them into banners.

Lots of layers here including some of the new crepe paper ribbon, and little bits of the stitched garland that I cut apart into individual circles.   Behind my green heart (which I cut with my Cricut) is a chevron printed Peek-A-Boo.

I am now working on my Christmas assignments and I am so excited to work with the new Christmas line!

Step by Step Saturday with Kristii Lockart

Happy Saturday dear friends!!  It’s time for a new Step by Step Saturday post, and since Thanksgiving has come and gone, I think it’s time to start thinking about Christmas!! Today, I have a quick and easy snowman card and matching ornament made using Glitz Design’s Hello Friend 6×6 paper pad.

The idea for this little card and ornament set started with Glitz Design’s Hello Friend Envelope paper from the 6×6 pad.  I am totally in love with the postal border and the beautiful roses in the corner!!

Step 1. Cut a piece of white cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 11″ and fold in half.  Place the die on the cardstock lining up the line on the die with the edge of the paper and run through your die cut machine to create the card base.

Step 2.  Die Cut three snowmen from the Envelope paper strategically placing the rose in the bottom, right corner of the die. Then, cut one snowman out of chipboard for the ornament base.  Glue one of the die cut patterned papers to the front of the card base and glue the other two patterned paper cuts to the front and back of the ornament to cover.

Step 3.  Embellish the front of your card with a hat, arms and mittens.

Step 4.  Stamp the face and color.

Step 5.  Add ribbon, flowers, pearls, punched greenery, and stamped sentiment.

Step 6.  Decorate the front of the ornament as desired making sure to cut out two hats and four mittens to embellish the back side of the ornament as well.  When attaching the hat, add a knotted piece of twine to hang.  Decorate the back of your ornament as desired.

Supplies Used:
Glitz Design Hello Friend 6×6 Paper Pad
Chipboard
Papertrey Ink Stamper’s Select White Cardstock, twine and Cream Felt
Papertrey Ink Shape Up Dies and Stamps: Snowman
McGill Greenery Punch
Roses, ribbon, buttons and pearls from my stash

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very Glitzy day!!

Hello Glitz Fans
This is Gerry here today and
I`m sharing my first projects as a design team member.
I totally fell in love with “Yours Truly” collection and I couldn`t find
better photos than the ones we took during a weekend spent in Prague.
While walking down the streets of magnificent Prague I noticed a mirror
hanging on a wall….an “outdoor” mirror….and I had no choice ;-) but to capture
a moment of both of us….smiling!

  • I loved working with the washi tape and decorating it with paper garland.
  • I placed a giant rhinestone on top of one of the circles.
  • “Photo a Day” was cut out from the paper layers.
  • The scallops were also cut out from the paper layers and used as borders.
  • From the Peek A Boos transparencies I used the one with the phrase “I love you”. I cut out part of it and placed it above the photo.

Love & Gratitude with Laurie Schmidlin

Good morning!  It’s my turn to share some of my Glitz “Gratitude” themed cards with you!

GD Lots of Love

When I think of gratitude, one of the first things that comes to my mind is my family!  I am so grateful for my family!  So naturally, being a cardmaker and all, I love to create cards for them!

I used several products from the new Yours Truly collection to create this pocket card.  I think my favorite is the sweet little bird layered sticker.

GD Lots of Love (Tag)

Here’s a picture of the sweet Owl Whatnot I tucked into the pocket I created on the front of my card.  I adore the hearts on the belly of the owl…so sweet!!

GD Thank You

For my second card, I created a thank you card.  I am so loving the new Yours Truly collection!  The colors are so warm and cozy…and yet the patterns are hip and fun!

I’m so glad you joined me here today!  ~Laurie

Celebration Cards with Kristii Lockart

Happy Thanksgiving week sweet friends!  We’ve been celebrating gratefulness at Glitz Design this month and I thought I’d add a little pink goodness to the celebration!  There’s nothing like getting out of the box and creating something totally unexpected!!  I am usually a very traditional person, so creating a pink Thanksgiving card was a lot of fun and totally off the wall!  I do have to say, thought, I’m kind of loving it!!

I used Glitz Design’s Hello Friend 6×6 paper pad and a Whatnots frame for the inspiration for this card.  Love, love, love the colors of these papers and embellishments!  I layered the backside of the Clouds paper onto a white card base, and then I layered the Clouds paper underneath the Whatnot frame and glued the frame onto the card base.  Next, I stamped the leaves onto white paper and cut them out.  I die cut two rustic cream felt acorns and then I die cut two more acorns using white paper covered with Hello Friend tapes.  The tapes make a great contrasting top on the acorns!  I added some ribbon, a grateful tag, and a Happy Thanksgiving tag to embellish the card.
The next card celebrates friendship.  I am so grateful for my friends and I need to make sure they know how much I care about them, so I think this card is perfect for this month’s theme!

One again, I used Hello Friend papers and embellies.  I am so loving the new tapes!  They are definitely a new favorite for sure!!  I stamped the Hero Arts Musical Walk onto the Clouds paper and covered it with a sweet circular Peek a Boo.  I added a stamped border on the bottom third of the white cardstock and added two layers of patterned paper from the 6×6 Hello Friend Pad.  I made some banners using the sweet Coral Polka Tape.  I added a little birdie from the Hello Friend Paper Garland to embellish the banner.  I love the garland so much, I am using it sparingly so I don’t run out too quickly!!  I just love adding a little bit here and there!  I added a stamped butterfly, Puffy Word Stickers, hand dyed seam binding, and some little rolled flowers to embellish.
