Step by Step Saturday with Audrey Yeager

I thought it would be fun way to ring in the new year with a “bang”, so I made some New Year’s Eve crackers!!

1. Take a toilet paper tube and cut in half with an exacto knife.

2. Cut a piece of tissue paper about 2 1/2 times the length of the tube, and wide enough to wrap around once or twice.

3. Put the tube back together on the tissue paper and add a line of double sided tape.  Adhere the edge of the tissue paper.  Roll the tube in the paper and seal the other end with double sided tape, too.

4. Use a paper piercer to poke holes around the middle of the tube like a perforation.  This will make it easier for the paper to rip when you pull on the ends.

5.  Carefully tie off one end of the tube with ribbon, twine, or even fabric.

6. Now the fun part!  Choose some goodies to put inside your tube.  I made some confetti with a punch, added some candy, a balloon, a noise maker, and a fortune.  Other ideas are coins, small toys, and trinkets.  You can even buy the “snap” strips that make noise online and stick them inside, too, so that it actually snaps when you open it.

7. Seal off the other end of the tube, and decorate the outside!  NOTE: You may want to perforate around the middle again, through any additional layers of paper you add.  I rolled some paper round the middle, added a border of washi tape, punched a label out of yellow paper, and added a die cut 2013.

Hope you have a wonderful New Year!!!   -Audrey

New Years Cards & Tags with Karola Witczak

Hello Dear Glitzers! I hope you spent your Christmas fabulous! It’s a few days after and I don’t have any Christmas cards or Christmas ornaments or gifts wrapping for you today, but I have something else as an inspiration!
If you were late with your Christmas cards this year – I have a good news for you! It’s still enough time to create “Happy New Year” cards and sending them to your family, friends and other fantastic people!
I’ve made 4 cards for today’s blog post – two of them are tags and another two are in “bracket” shape (my favorite). I combined Hello Friend collection with a small amount of Joyeux Noel beautiful green tints. I wanted to create soft, shabby chic cards, with a little touch of  winter motifs and past Christmas time, with lots of details as a kind of symbols of the good and full of the prosperity New Year for everyone.
Let’s see on the tags. The main role in the first tag playing beautiful owl. When I was looking for the main motif on my tag, the owl from Hello Friends Whatnots was perfect! I’ve created whole composition around the owl, creating lots of very dimensional layers.
The second tag is also very dimensional and layered, but here I created a few focal points using star motif. As you can see – few of the most important decoration are the Hello Friend Giant Rhinestones – the perfect addition when we want to add some shine and elegance to our project.
As I mentioned, apart from tags I have other cards today for sharing. I cut the shape out using die cutting machine and then I started decorate my cards. Here I also made layers and tried to create a rich and full of details composition. As you can see in tags –  here I also used Teeny Alphas for creating inscriptions.
For the first card I used a funny layered sticker from Cashmere Dame line – I think it’s perfect to highlight the positive mention of the “Happy New Year” card. I used here also the tiny and stunning Hello Friend Paper Garland. I adhered it using 3d foam cubes (3mm) to mimic garland flying on the wind…
For another card I want to use Peek-a-Boos, so I cut out a piece of chevron transparencies from Hello Friend Peek-a-Boos and used it as a background. The stunning Giant Rhinestone with a cute bird inspired me to use it as a main role. I think it may be a symbol of the hope for the better tomorrow. I added some small flowers and a few buttons as the finishing touches for the cards – I know that adding some tiny details giving the possibility to direct attention on gorgeous colors and patterns of collections which are used.

Joyful Cards with Teresa Kline

Good morning peeps, I do hope your Christmas was peaceful, merry, and full of love!  I am sharing a couple of cards that I created for Christmas.

The Joyeux Noel papers are so gorgeous and trendy.  I adore the stripes and the green patterned paper, very elegant.  The mix of papers on this fun shaped cardboard whatnot piece is stunning.  I added a stamped sentiment to the center, the gorgeous tulle ribbon and rusty jingle bells pull it all together.

Supplies Used:

Glitz Design Paper: Joyeux Noel
Glitz Design Whatnots: Joyeux Noel

Isn’t this paper adorable?  It reminds me of the vintage wall paper from way back when…teehehe…I about to show my age…lol.  I luv the added lace, stitching, and seam binding together pull the vintage fell all together!

This “joy” piece is from the title stickers, it really added to the style of my card.  I added pop dots for depth and glitter coated the jingle bells.  This year I have spray painted my own jungle bells and then coated them with gorgeous fine glitter.  I have had so much fun picking colors and adding them to my Christmas creations.

Have a wonderful day, be sure to sprinkle it with a little Glitz!

Inspired by Christmas Decor with Janna Werner

Hello and merry Christmas! This is Janna with 2 Christmas related scrapbooking pages. I am a huge fan of decoration (who isn´t, right?!) and I enjoy reading home decor magazines and spying on shop decorations a lot. So, today´s layouts are both inspired by shop decoration.

We have a some really really fancy flower shops in Oldenburg (which is close to Bremen, Germany… just in case you don´t know where Oldenburg is ;-) ), so, when hubby and I went to town in the beginning of December, I sneaked out my iPhone and took some pictures..

I like to get inspiration and there was a lot! Maybe a bit too much, because I felt a bit overwhelmed in the end. That´s why I will probably stick to “old-fashioned” decoration and color schemes, such as gold/red or blue/silver. Anyways, enjoy the Christmas holidays (hope Santa brings tons of scrapbooking stuff for you!) and see you next year :-*

Christmas Past & Tins with Audrey Yeager

I was SOOOO excited to see that Glitz released a Christmas line this year!!!!  I had a whole bunch of projects in mind, but I also had some Christmas photos on my desk that I really wanted to scrap, so I started with a layout!  These are photos of Christmas at my grandmothers from when I was about 3.  I was spoiled because I was the first grandchild.

I cut out the red star shapes with my Cricut and arranged them on the page on top of some strips of “Joyux Noel Floral” paper, and some “Banner” paper, too.  The teal banner is actually from a piece of Cashmere Dame paper…I love a teal and red combo for the holidays!  And of course the beautiful Santa Rhinestone.

I found some more teal in a Cashmere Dame Peek-a-Boo which I used for my title and journaling.  You can also see that I stitched around my photos to make them stand out a bit more!

Next up, a quick and simple little gift! Every year I make gifts for the people in my family, and one the easiest and best recieved is food gifts.  So this year, I made a few different spice rub mixtures including a home made curry powder, BBQ rub, and poultry seasoning.
I found these little tins online, and simply wrapped them with some papers and tapes.  I stacked the tins, and tied them with some jute.
For the tag, I made my own bow from some small strips of paper and centered with a Rhinestone.  I added it to a tag and tied it to the stack, and now I have a great little stocking stuffer or pretty package to hang on the tree!
I hope you have a wonderful wonderful Holiday Season!  -Audrey

Christmas Goodies with Gerry Van Gent

Hallo dear friends,
This is Gerry here. As you can see I`m totally
into Christmas mood and I can`t wait to spend
the Holidays with my family at home.
For me this is the coziest and the most
beautiful time of the year. And as every year I
hand made my Christmas home decoration
and my seasonal cards.
I`m here today to share with you a few of my
Christmas projects I created to celebrate
together with all of you!

My first project is a gift box in a shape of a star.
I altered the box using mostly the gorgeous
“Joyeux Noel” collection.

{Joyeux Noel} 6 x 6 Paper Pad
{Joyeux Noel} Journaling Stickers
{Joyeux Noel} Layered Stickers
{Hello Friend} Paper Garland
{Hello Friend} Washi Tape – Coral Polka
{Yours Truly} Crepe Trim
This is how the “back” of the box looks like.
The journaling scallop sticker was cut in two and used on top of the box.
The “Merry Christmas” phrase is from the Layered Stickers.
I used a circle punch to punch only the text and then I placed it
on top of the scallop sticker.
Between the two scallops I used crepe trim.

My second project is an altered square
gift box which is perfect for a little
precious jewel – for example a Pandora charm ;-)
After altering the box with pattern paper I painted
the edges and used a few embellishments to decorate it.

“DEAR SANTA…” Gift Box
{Joyeux Noel} 6 x 6 Paper Pad
{Joyeux Noel} 12 x 12 Motif Paper
{Joyeux Noel} Title StickersThis is how the “back” of the box looks like.
I loved adding the Title sticker “little treasures”!

Season’s Greetings with Laurie Schmidlin

Good morning!  Are you still working on Christmas cards?  I seem to always need a few last minute ones.  :-)

Here are a couple that I have created recently using Glitz goodies…

GD Merry and Bright

My first card features products from the Hello Friend collection.  I love using non-Holiday themed paper and turning it into a Holiday card!  The pretty corals and pinks in this collection lend themselves nicely to a soft and pretty Christmas card, don’t you think?

GD Season's Greetings

My second card is the complete opposite from my first!  I chose papers and embellishments from the new Joyeux Noel collection (with a bit of the yellow paper from the Yours Truly collection).  I just love the rustic feel this collection has!  And those Giant Rhinestones are such great embellishments…I love them!

Thanks so much for joining me here today!  I hope your day is filled with creativity!  ~Laurie

A Christmas Wreath & Cards with Rommel Okuma

Hi Glitz Fans! Today I’m here to share some holidays inspiration with you all.
December is a magic month! I love Christmas and New Year’s Eve. I love to be with my friends, to celebrate one more year, expectations for the new one, make new goals, new lists, new everything! We can renew each year, and it’s so magic… Isn’t it?!
So, for this time I made this special garland to decorate my home using the amazing “Joyeux Noel” collection. With the beautiful patterned papers and all the embellishments you can create anything gorgeous for this holiday season!

I cut out several roses using Silhouete Cameo, and made clusters with others ornaments. To add a touch of glitz in this project, I used a lot, I SAID A LOT, of Stickles! Hey, girls, it’s christmas time… all the things MUST shine. Don’t you think so? haha

I also  made two cards, to send for my friends. I used the Joyeux Noel 6 x 6 Paper Pad. I think they will love to receive my cards this year. What about you? :P

This second card is clean and simpler, but full of Joy as the sentiment I chose. Sometimes, it’s a great exercise try to create projects in this style. You must try! Here I use Joyeux Noel Paper Layer to add some touch of vintage appeal.

Christmas Garland:

  • Glitz Design Joyeux Noel Collection papers: stripe, santa

Joyeux Noel Cards with Kristii Lockart

Hi again dear friends!  I have some more new cards for you featuring Glitz Design Joyeux Noel goodies!!  I am totaling loving these new papers, stickers and Whatnots!  They are simply fabulous! In the first card I layered some papers from the Joyeux Noel 6×6 paper pad with some lace and some Joyeux Noel Cardstock Stickers.  Super quick and super easy!

I layered the stickers and then added some felt leaves and a button to add dimension.  Such a fun little touch to make the card extra special!

My inspiration for the second card was based on the Joyeux Noel Cardstock Title Sticker: A Christmas Story.

I used PTI’s Nativity Silhouettes to tell the story.  I used gold embossing powder to make the star burst shine under the silhouettes and added some gold stars just for fun!  It’s hard to see just how much of an impact the gold embossing has in the photo, but it definitely adds some shine and texture!

Supplies used:
Glitz Design Joyeux Noel 6×6 Paper Pad
Glitz Design Joyeux Noel Cardstock Stickers: Titles
Glitz Design Joyeux Noel Cardstock Stickers: Journaling
Other supplies:  Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream Cardstock, Papertrey Ink Nativity Silhouettes Stamps, Papertrey Ink Simply Chartreuse Felt, Maya Road Pearls, Gold Paper, Hand-dyed Seam Binding and button from my stash.

Wishing you a very Glitzy Christmas,
