Christmas cards & layouts with Noel Culbertson

Merry Christmas! I hope all of your preparations for this joyous season are well underway and you are enjoying the blessing of family and friends. For this month’s projects I’ve made a couple of layouts with the Joyeux Noel line, then using some of the scraps from the layouts I made a couple of Christmas cards. I may be even more partial to this Glitz line not only for its classic Christmas beauty, but also being that it bares my name. I can’t help but love it.

To add a cut out title, on a scratch piece of paper, print your desired title out as a mirror image (reversed). Gently tack it to the back of your patterned paper, and cut along the outline with an xacto knife.

Step by Step Saturday with Teresa Kline

Hello Glitz friends, I am so thrilled to be sharing my step x step with you!  It is girly, sweet, and very simple to recreate, my kinda of gift!  I am not much of a hoarder, but do find myself not wanting to throw some things out.  The Laughing Cow boxes are one of those things, I eat these a lot with a few crackers; a “just enough snack” that is not fattening!

Here is the Laughing Cow box in it’s original state, this is my favorite one…yummy!

First, I painted the sides and a small portion of the top with white acrylic paint.  Them I rubbed it with a fine grit piece of sand paper, very lightly…not abrasive.  Just enough so that a marbled under color starts to appear.  I then added Tim Holtz fine glitter to the sides and part of the top, so that the shape you use for the top does not show any of the original box color.

I used the Spellbinders Big Scalloped Circle Die shape, the largest one in the set.  It fits perfect on top and on the inside, I cut thin pieces of card board to use for a base of each page.  I used tweed ribbon and glued two pieces of the card board base to each side and gluing to the inside of the box bottom, so that they fold out accordion style.

I then cut out the gorgeous Glitz Hello Friend Collection papers to adhere to each piece of card board and started putting my pages together.  I used The Hello Friend…..Stamp Set,  Cardstock Stickers, Transparency Pieces, Puffy Word Stickers, Transparent Stickers with Jewels, Cardstock Whatnot Pieces, Paper Layers, Teeny Alphabet Stickers, and Gathered Crepe Trim.

I then adhere each page to the card board base and my sweet little circle memory keepsake was coming together.  It is soooo girly and sweet, the Hello Friend Collection makes it all possible!

Here are the pages, showing both sides as it folds up into the sweet circle box.  The flower page is my favorite, I totally adore the heart flowers!  The original idea came from Vicki Chriman shown here.

More pages here, the page on the right is the last page of the book and it is clued to the bottom of the box.

The opened box, showing the first page with the sweet little butterfly from the Hello Friend Rubber Stamp set.  The tweed ribbon tab to the right, lift to open the sweet scalloped pages.

The top of the box with seam binding ribbon bow and a Glitz Giant Rhinestone, perfect for gift giving.  A sweeet gift for a girl of any age!

I hope you like my refurbished Laughing Cow Sweet Circle Memory Keepsake Box.  You still have time to create one for your friend, daughter, granddaughter, or even yourself!

Have a wonderful day, be sure to sprinkle it with a little Glitz!

Simple Christmas Card & Gift Card Holder with Teresa Kline

Merry Christmas to all of my glitz friends!  You still have time to create a few Christmas cards and the Glitz Joyeux Noel collection make it gorgeous and fun!  I have created a more CAS styled card and some gift card holders.

I have used the fabulous star from the Whatnots pack and added a huge kraft colored button.  I used the title sticker for my sentiment and then I added a few glimmer stars.  I adore the mix of old and new, some sweet pom pom trim added to the sentiment complete my card.

Supplies Used:
Glitz Design Paper Pack: Joyeux Noel
Glitz Design Title Stickers: Joyeux Noel
Glitz Design Whatnots:  Joyeux Noel

These are gift cards holders, perfect for this Christmas gift giving season.  These tags are from the Whatnots pack too.

A simple piece of lace and a burlap bow added make these simply homemade. I adore the green piece of paper in the Joyeux Noel paper pack.

Here is the gift card pocket shown with the gift card tucked inside.  A cute way to give those gift cards.
Have a peaceful Christmas, be sure to sprinkle it with a little Glitz!

Yours Truly Christmas Cards with Lea Lawson

Happy Tuesday, everyone!!  Today I just wanted to share a few cards that I have created using the Yours Truly collection!  Yes- we do have a gorgeous vintage themed Christmas collection available, and I have been using that this season too.  But, I find it so fun and inspiring to find ways to use nontraditional papers for my cards, and the Yours Truly collection was perfect for them!!

I have created three cards using the Yours Truly 6×6 paper pad & 12 x12 papers, plus a little washi tape.  Check them out!

Look at the possibilities you have with some cardstock, a bit of paper, stamps, and a few embellishments!!

I hope you’ve enjoyed my “Yours Truly” holiday cards today!! Have a great rest of your day!

Until later,
~Lea

Happy Holidays!

Step by Step Saturday with Camilla Ekman

I hope you are in a holiday spirit because my step-by-step today is for Christmas ornaments. They are very easy to do, but are very decorative.
1. Choose a beautiful Christmas paper, like this one from the Joyeux Noel collection from Glitz. You will also need some kind of round punch like the one in the picture. Add a piece of trim and a piece of string.

2. Punch 8 shapes. Then fold them so that a triangle is formed in the middle. I used a ruler to make the folding. Make sure that 4 of them are folded with the front pattern facing you and 4 of them with the back pattern facing you.

3. Now, glue the shapes together like this. 4 shapes will form a hemisphere.

4. Before you glue the last one together with the first one, attach the string.

5. Make the other hemispere with the other 4 shapes.

5. Glue the two hemispheres together and make a bow. You can always decorate it more if you want to. Now you are finished.

Eclectic Cards & Tags with Nicole Harper

I’m excited to share some twists on ‘traditional’ Christmas gift tags and cards with you today…who says you have to stick to just red and green?!

For this card, I trimmed the vintage Santa banner from the Joyeux Noel banner paper as a little accent. The red striped paper is also from the same collection, but the grey polka dot and yellow strip are from the Yours Truly line. I used foam adhesive on the Joy sticker before placing it onto a scrap that was laying on my desk, then trimmed around the edge to make it stand out a bit against the red stripes. Gold glitter embossing powder seemed like the perfect finishing touch with the chevron border stamp from Cashmere Dame, along with one of the giant Joyeux Noel rhinestones.

Supplies:
Joyeux Noel: Banner paper, Giant Rhinestones, Title Stickers, Stripe paper
Yours Truly: Polka paper
Cashmere Dame: Stamp Set

Next, I played around with the scraps on my desk to make these fun gift tags!

For the left tag, I embossed a pattern onto a plain manila shipping tag then lightly rubbed grey ink over the embossed areas before spritzing the entire tag with mist. I cut the ends of the leftover strip of red striped paper from the above card and adhered it to the center of the tag, adding a strip of Blue Polka washi from Cashmere Dame. The large star is a die cut that is included in the Joyeux Noel Whatnots package…I jazzed it up with a foam dotted Yours Truly sticker and Giant Rhinestone. After punching a few snowflakes from leftover Joyeux Noel floral paper, all this tag needed to polish it off was some red seam binding.

The middle tag is probably the least ‘traditional’ of the bunch, but it’s also my favorite ;)
I cut the hexagon pattern from the Cashmere Dame Honeycomb paper and outlined the shapes with a fine black pen. Sprinkled a bit of teal mist on the plain tag, added the hexagons and then two strips of washi along the side. I peeled the reindeer off of it’s original backing and used a few foam dots to adhere him to the page. Wrapped some red jute twine around the whole tag and added the ‘checklist’ sticker from the Yours Truly puffy words.

Lastly, on the right I kept it super simple. Started with a grey tag and the wide canvas ribbon. Added the tree from the same Joyeux Noel layered stickers on top of some lace trim from the Yours Truly layered stickers and the ‘happy’ is from the Cashmere Dame puffy stickers. after adding plain jute  twine with a single piece from the Yours Truly Paper Garland tucked in it, I decided it looked just right. ;)

Supplies:
Joyeux Noel: Giant Rhinestones, Layered Stickers, Stripe paper, Whatnots, Floral paper
Cashmere Dame: Blue Polka washi tape, Chevron Washi tape, Honeycomb paper, Puffy Words
Hello Friend: Envelope paper
Yours Truly: Layered Stickers, Puffy Words, Paper Garland

Stocking Gift Card Holders & Cards with Laurie Schmidlin

Good morning friends!  I am so enjoying the new Glitz collection – Joyeux Noel!  The vintage, texture filled papers are so gorgeous!

Here are a few projects I created using this new collection…

GD Gift Stockings

I give a lot of gift cards at Christmas, and I’m always looking for festive ways to give them and this stocking is one of my favorites!

GD Gift Stockings2

I used the Banner 12″ paper along with some coordinating 12″ Stripe paper.  For the tag, I chose a Whatnot, added some Red Teeny Alpha stickers, and some chunky glitter.

GD Gift Stockings3

For my second stocking, I used the Motif and Floral 12″ papers combined with a Title Sticker and a Giant Rhinestone for embellishment.  For that little extra something, I added some clear chunky glitter around the edge of the stocking.

GD Gift Stockings4

Here’s a peek at the inside…  Such a fun (and pretty) way to give a gift card, don’t you think?  :-)

GD Merry Christmas To You

My second project also features the new Joyeux Noel collection!  All of the papers are from the 6″ Glitz Paper Pack.  For the focal image, I added a Journaling Sticker and a stamped sentiment.

Thanks so much for joining me here today!  ~Laurie
