Whale Love with Teresa Kline

I am sharing more creations designed with the new release…..luv!  The Glitz elements make it so easy to create a sweet card in minutes; ok, maybe not minutes for me but quickly.

I have used the Love You Madly Journaling Stickers for this one, the “I Love You” makes a fabulous focal point.  I added a doily, lace trim, seam binding and of course a Giant Love You Madly Rhinestone.  The background is a collection of a piece of the background layer and the designer paper from the Love You Madly collection.

Supplies Used:
Glitz Designer Paper: Love You Madly
Glitz Journaling Stickers: Love You Madly
Glitz What Nots: Love You Madly
Glitz Giant Rhinestones: Love You Madly

Alright, here is the flowered whale again; my favorite thing of this entire release…I so luv it!  The sentiment has to be one of the {{{sweetest}}} I have ever seen!  It is one of the Uncharted Water Title Stickers.

The graph love note panel is actually a piece of the designer paper that have all sorts of mini style cards you can cut individually to use on cards or scrapbook pages.  I then used the Navy Teeny Alpha to created the From: Me To: {U}.  The sea anchor at the bottom was created by using the Tiny Roller Doodle, a super easy and simple way to add a little something extra to your creation! I added a piece of lace trim, seam binding and a giant rhinestone to complete my sweet flowered whale card.

Have a wonderful day, be sure to sprinkle it with a little Glitz!

Supplies Used:
Glitz Designer Paper: Uncharted Waters and Love You Madly
Glitz Title Stickers: Uncharted Waters

Fun & Colorful Layouts with Janna Werner

Hi there, this is Janna with two scrapbooking pages. I used the new Glitz Design collections “Uncharted Waters”, “Love You Madly” and “Color me Happy” for these layouts, & I think the top one is definitely one of the most colorful ones I have ever created – it was so much fun!

This photo was taken from Nathalie when I visited her at the Hanselife Trade Show in September 2012. It was the first time we met and it was so much fun… after watching her work (I love watching other people work while sitting around *laughs*), we had lunch together and chatted a bit more. It was a great day and I wanted my layout to reflect this. Therefore I chose lots of happy and fun colors.

The second layout is rather clean and simple. I wanted it to transfer the message without any “distraction” – You (Jesper + Sindri) and Me – we stick together, no matter what is happening. I should have added a photo of me as well, but you know how it is…. we scrap and take tons of photos but we are rarely on those photos.. guess that´s something I should change ;-)

Here is a list of the supplies I used:
Hello
Glitz Design – Color Me Happy: giant rhinestones, teeny alphas (rainbow and white), whatnots, paper layers, woodgrain, hearts, chalkboard, bit and pieces, stripes
Glitz Design – Uncharted Waters: washi tape (bokeh), whatnots, papery layers, bits and pieces
Glitz Design – Love You Madly: giant roller doodle (chevron), peek-a-boos, hello, bits and pieces
Glitz Design – Hello Friend: rubber stamps
other: sewing machine, studio calico spray (mister huey´s), ranger ink liquid pearls, american crafts journaling pen (black)

You and Me

Glitz Design – Color Me Happy: hearts, woodgrain, chalkboard, washi tape (woodgrain)
Glitz Design – Love You Madly: hello, bits and pieces
Glitz Design – Uncharted Waters: rubber stamps, teeny alphas (aqua stripe), paper layers

All Hands on Deck with Audrey Yeager

Seriously, the latest Glitz Design releases are the best YET!!  Some fun new things, like the roller stamps, and awesome designs on the classic Glitz stuff like the Peek-A-Boos (transparencies) and What-Nots (die-cuts).  I have two pages to share with you today.

For some reason, I didn’t scrap these photos of a ship tour that we took last summer. They have just been sitting in my “to do” pile for a while.  Well, it was a good thing I waited, because the Uncharted Waters line is an absolute perfect match!

The design of my page revolved a lot around this anchor die cut, which I misted with a Navy blue to make it stand out a bit more on the page.  I even looked up some rope knots and used one to tie on my string to the top of the anchor!  :)

LOVE this yellow anchor washi!!!!

This Giant Rhinestone was a perfect match for the strips on the patterned paper.

I layered a few Peek-A-Boos behind, and on top of the photos to add some more color on the page.

Next I wanted to do a page with the bright, colorful papers of the “Color Me Happy” collection.  It went well with these bright, colorful photos of my little guy driving his car.  He is just so happy!

I wanted to show some movement on this page, so I took the rainbow chevron washi and cut it up into pieces and taped them down.  Then I machine stitched over the washi to create a circle.  Behind the photos I layered some What-Nots and Journal Stickers.

I fussy cut some elements from other papers, and also used a cloud stamp in the top left corner of the page.

Have you gotten your hands on any new Glitz yet?  Can’t wait to see!

Step By Step Saturday with Laurie Schmidlin

Happy Saturday!  It’s my turn to share a project (complete with lots of photos) with step by step instructions!

Today, I’m going to share how to create a couple of my most favorite handmade embellishments!

Hello There

I love to add dimension to my cards!  From layered and stitched focal images to glittery paper flowers, I’ll share how I make them…all using some of the brand new Glitz goodies!

Layered Hearts1

To start, I cut out several hearts using three different patterned papers (from the Color Me Happy Collection) as well as two vellum ones.  I used my electronic cutting machine, but you could cut these out by hand (there are lots of free templates available online) or your favorite nesting dies.

Layered Hearts2

I added adhesive only to the center of each heart (because I plan on curling up the edges for added dimension) and then stitched down the center.

Layered Hearts3

To finish it off, I added one of the new Color Me Happy Giant Rhinestones to the center.  It’s so bright and happy, don’t you think?  :-)

Layered Hearts4

Here’s a peek at it with the edges all curled up a bit.  I really like the added dimension this gives!

Hello There

I added my layered heart on some other coordinating Color Me Happy goodies, and then added some ribbon, a Journaling Sticker, and a bit of Woodgrain Tape.

Gift Bag

Up next, I’ll show you how I like to make paper flowers (like the one on top of the cupcake)!

Rolled Flower1

First, I cut out a rolled flower shape using some new Love You Madly paper.  Again, I used my electronic cutting machine, but there are templates available online that you can cut out by hand or use your favorite die).

Rolled Flower2

Next, I like to ink up the edges (you only need to ink the scalloped edges).  I think it gives the flower a little bit more depth.

Rolled Flower3

Next, I roll up the flower.  I like to use a thick handled paint brush, but a pencil will work as well.

Rolled Flower4

After the flower is all rolled up, remove your paint brush (or pencil) and let go of the flower.  It will spring back a bit.  Depending on how tightly rolled I want my flower, I might leave it as is or unroll it a bit more to open it up a bit.  The next step is to glue the flower down.  I like to use my hot glue gun because, well…I like the instant gratification!  :-)

Rolled Flower5

Next, I curl some of the petals down.  Another option would be to curl them before you roll up the flower (this gives a more dramatic effect).  If you do that, make sure to be very gently while you are rolling so as not to tear the paper.

In this photo, you can see the hot glue that I used to secure the flower.  You can hide this by adding glitter, micro beads, or pearls.

Rolled Flower6

I wanted a sparkly flower, so I opted to add glitter to not only the center, but the petals as well.

Gift Bag

After the flower was dry, I added it to the top of a cupcake that I created using more Love You Madly goodies!  I stamped the numbers 1 and 7 on the cupcake (using the new Love You Madly rubber stamps) as I plan on giving this to my daughter for her 17th birthday!  :-)

I’m so glad you joined me here today!  ~Laurie

Beatiful Happiness cards with Laurie Schmidlin

Hi there!  It’s my turn to share some Glitz cards with you today!  I am still in awe over all of the new Glitz collections…so much loveliness!

Choose Happiness

From the moment I laid eyes on the Uncharted Waters collection, I was smitten!  From the scalloped rainbow Waves paper in muted and vintage tones to the lovely new Rubber Stamps…it’s just a whole lot of pretty!  Vintage goodness at its best!

For my card I used three different patterned papers for the background.  I then cut apart the paper with the anchor border (from the Bits and Pieces paper) and layered on some Happiness Tape, a Whatnot, a Giant Rhinestone, and a stamped image (from the new Uncharted Waters Rubber Stamp set) that I punched out with a circle punch.
Hugs & Kisses

For my second card, I used goodies form the new Love You Madly collection!  I added lots of layers (Love You Madly papers and Stickers), a bit of Paper Garland, a Giant Rhinestone, some Hearts Tape, and a punched out stamped image (from the new Uncharted Waters Rubber Stamp set).  I’ll admit it.  I am totally addicted to the new Tape!  I just love beautiful patterns!  :-)

Both the Uncharted Waters and Love You Madly Collections are brand new!  Be watching your favorite retailer for their arrival!

You & Me & the Beach Layouts with Rommel Okuma

Hello Glitz fans!

Today I’m here to share projects using two of the latest releases this winter: Uncharted Waters and Love You Madly.

First of all, using Love You Madly I made this page:

My favorite part of this collection is the color combo with pink, navy blue, aqua and grey – it’s chic, modern and romantic. In one word: perfect!

One more gorgeous collection is Uncharted Waters. It’s perfect for your beach photos! With a color combo full of blues, browns, gold and a little bit of pink and coral.
This little sassy girl is my friend’s daughter. When I saw this photo I asked if I could make a project for her. Of course I got the photo, and it’s perfect for this collection! For some interest, I added some texture using modeling paste and gauze.

You and Me:
- Love you madly, papers: Stripe, Hello, Pieces,
- Love you madly, paper layer
- Love you madly, washi tapes
- Love you madly, whatnots

Love & Smile cards with Kristii Lockart

Good Morning sweet friends!!  I have some brand spankin’ new Glitz Goodies to share with you today!!  I have been so blessed to be able to design with Glitz Design and I can honestly say that each and every line has been absolutely amazing!! Glitz Design only gets better and better!! The Love you Madly line is one of my new favorites and I’m sure you’re going to fall in love with it too!

This first card is layered with Love You Madly patterned papers, a lacy little Peek a Boo and a fun little film strip Whatnot.  I love, love, love the filmstrip!! Soooo very fun!

I added a little stamped heart and flowers that I adhered with dimensional tape.  Love a little dimension for sure!  Oh, and did I mention how cute the Love you Madly Paper Garland is!!  Sooo way cute!  I think that I love this line madly!!!

The colors in the Love You Madly line are absolutely gorgeous and the Washi Tapes are my favorite!! I just had to decorate the inside of the card with all of the Love You Madly goodness!
I am totally in love with the colors in this second card!!  I started with a layer of Love You Madly Floral and topped it with two different Whatnot layers.  I added a beautiful Peek a Boo doily on top.

To embellish the card I used a Love You Madly Giant Rhinestone and Paper Garland.  I also added a hand dyed seam binding bow and pearl.  Such a quick and easy card, but very rich in color and thought!  The sentiment on the doily is absolutely fabulous and the font is gorgeous!

The inside of the card features a layer of the Love You Madly Floral paper, the back side of the Stripe paper, and a little Paper Garland piece.

Oh my goodness I love these papers and I look forward to making more goodies with them!!  I totally know that you’ll love them too!

Happiness Layouts with Noel Culbertson

Hello friends, Noel here with a couple new projects using two of the latest releases. With three fabulous new lines out from Glitz Designs, one can have a hard time choosing which goodies to play with first. It’s always hard to choose a favorite, but with my husband being a US Navy Chief I was definitely sold on all of the anchors and seaworthy goodness in the Uncharted Waters line. With my Navy man having just come home from another deployment, I figured this was the perfect time to test the Uncharted Waters.

Step by Step Saturday with Rommel Okuma

Hello folks! Happy New Year!!!!
Hope everybody had great time in this holiday with family and friends! And for today “Step by Step Saturday” I made an usual mixed media canvas. It’s a inspirational canvas for my year. What about you? Why not to make something that encourage and inspire you everyday for this year, and always will remember you about your goals for 2013?
For my canvas, I used a piece of 8 x 8 inches, some art mediums and several amazing Glitz Design products.
Ok, let’s go girls and boys!
Step 1: Let’s prepare our canvas background using Gelatos by Faber Castel. Don’t forget to prime the surface  with a good gesso. Apply it on the canvas and let it dry completely. After, use the Gelato directly to the canvas, so then, add some water and use your paint-brush do paint. Make this process for all the colors you will work. I used three colors, to make an ombre effect. Let the canvas dry.
After dried your canvas will be as below:

Step 2: After make our background let’s start to work to add some layers. I think a image transfer using old book pages will be great. Use some scraps of an old book and distribute it for all along your canvas piece.

Use a gel medium and take it directly to surface, so glue down your scrap of old book. Let it dry and remove the paper. If you want use some water to help you in this process.

Step 3: To finish this step you can add more gel medium. You will have a clear and translucent image transfer effect.

Step 4: Choose a paper from your 6×6 paper pad by Glitz Design. I chosen as you see bellow, because it reminds me a wall with lots of patterns. Cut some straps from this paper and glue down on your canvas surface using a fabric glue.

Step 5: Add some details using masking tape:

Step 6: Let’s color the masking tape. Use a color that it will constrat to your background. I used a light turquoise. Constrating colors will make your project more interesting, trust me! Now you have a beautiful detail with color and texture.

Step 7: Now, let’s use our washi tapes from Glitz Design. I used this with strips patterns. Glue down wherever you want.

Step 8: More layers! Use tags for more layers. Glue it down in the center of your canvas. For the last, glue your photo above all this tags. I use a 3 x 4 inches photo.

Step 9: How about to use acrilic ink to add a distress effect in your photo? With a paint-brush paint all the edges with black ink:

Step 10: Now, let’s spread some black ink around the photo corner. No problem if some dots pop up above your photo!

Step 11: Let’s make one more layer with ink. Use a complementary color with your background. I chosen pink. Paint in your left corner, you need a lot of ink for this technique. Splash some water and let the ink drain. If it’s your first time using ink I recommend you to make this step before “Step 8″:

Step 12: Let’s start decorate our canvas with some intereting details! This circle is from Yours Truly Peek-a-boo collection. I love it because it looks like a doodle circle. Glue down behing the tags.

Step 13:  Use some background stamps and add little details all around the canvas. I used one with dots.

Step 14:  One more layer! LoL! I decided to apply some trends to this piece. I found a chevron/arrow mask and realized that it will match well in this project, and apply some modeling past. I swear, this is our last layer! haha

Step 15: Adhere more two straps of washi tape in the right side of the photo and two Rinestones.

Step 16: Using a paper layer let’s make a arrow. Cut out a strap and make arrows with it. Glue down this pieces using Gel Medium or Fabric Glue. To finish better, use a black pen in all the edges.

Step 17: Write a quote to inspire or encourage you in the new year! I write using my handwritting and teeny alphas. This is all!

Here is my project finished:

Details:
