Color Me Happy + Project Life with Lisa Andrews

I’ve been having so much fun with the new Glitz Designs Color Me Happy line. Seriously loving those bright and cheerful colors!

Today I want to share both a layout and Project Life spread where I used the Color Me Happy line.

This layout uses one of my favorite photos from Christmas morning. It’s one of my husband holding up the t-shirt quilt I made for him. He was totally surprised! He’s not always the easiest to buy gifts for, so I was happy to put this together for him.

There are so many fun bits and pieces in the Color Me Happy line. I love the Happy Paper Garland and I’m pretty sure you will be seeing that garland on lots of projects until I finally use it all up.
The paper I used for the background of this page has the who, what, when and where incorporated into the paper design. It was fun to add the journaling with stickers and work the placement of the preprinted journaling space into the page layout.
Next up for today is a Project Life spread I put together.
Once again, the bright and cheerful colors make me so happy! The big “today” on the peek a boo transparency was a perfect layer for adding the date to the spread.
One of my favorite embellishments on page is in one of the bottom pockets where I cut apart the “happy” from the paper garland and placed it over the big brown polkas. Have I mentioned that I love that Happy Paper Garland?
The Glitz 6 X 6 paper pad was just the prefect size for this spread.  The new 6 X 6 pads are so cool because (1) the papers are double sided and (2) in addition to favorite 12 x 12 designs shrunk down, they have unique designs that are not part of the 12 X 12 paper collection.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Live Life in Color with Janna Werner

It’s Color Me Happy week!!  For the first part of the week we have some normal design team posts, but on Thursday we are having our first ever Glitz Design Blog Hop!  Tons of inspiration from our DT, and the chance to win the entire Color Me Happy collection for yourself!

Up first for the week….an amazing post from Janna!!
Janna-Werner-Glitz-Design-2
Hello everyone, this is Janna with a brand new Glitz Design scrapbooking page. Today I am here to show you a layout that was created with the Color Me Happy collection – a very vivid, happy and playful line (and definitely one of my favorites). Instead of going for a light design, I decided to create a colorful and intense page. I used the Chalkboard paper as background to let the colors pop out of the page. I dampened the contrast of the background and top layers by applying the giant roller stamp “woodgrain” with white ink and by sewing on the edges, using a white thread. I mounted the black paper on top of Polka paper, to give the page a friendy and happy look.

Janna-Werner-Glitz-Design-1

I started this page with only one photo, the top right one. When I was close to being done, the middle part was still missing something, so I added another photo. I thought it would be fun to take a picture of the layout and attach it on top of the photo frame ;)

Here is a list of the Glitz Design supplies that I used to create the page (all are from the Color Me Happy collection):
papers: chalkboard, polka, hearts, stripe, bits and pieces, woodgrain
embellishments: giant rhinestones, whatnots, washi tape (rainbow chevron and stripe), paper layers, journaling stickers
stamp: giant roller stamp woodgrain
alphas: white, rainbow

Have a great day, everyone!
Janna

Complimentary Layouts with Karola Witczak

Hello Glitzers!  It’s Karola here with some girly, pinky and sweet layouts today!
For my first layout I used previous Glitz collection – Hello Friend. I can’t resist – these warm pinks and beige are fantastic to create a very girly and sweet layout!
I used Polka paper for background, which is very eye-catching and make the other elements pop! I wanted to use this amazing and cute Paper Layer with the owl, so I arranged the whole page over this sweet illustration and my photo. For my title I used one of the Title Stickers- I cut it into a few parts and adhered onto the layout using 3d foam squares. Love the dimensional effect! Here and there you can find some small details like clouds (Whatnots) and a stunning butterfly on the centre (Layered Sticker). I don’t wanted to create fairly monochromatic page, so I decided to use turquoise Cashmere Dame Washi Tape as a contrast and added it onto few places in the composition.
My second page for today is created using the brand new Love You Madly collection. I have to admit that I was very inspired by the pale tones of this line and created another girly and sweet layout. I used lots of new products from Love You Madly with a little help from Uncharted Waters and Color Me Happy products. I wanted to try the new, amazing Giant Roller Doodle stamp, so I stamped a few woodgrain lines on my background. Also, as you can see – I have so much fun using many Washi Tape strips here and there – totally in love with this product, it’s very versatile! You can add just a stripe or a small piece to highlight your details. I love the Love You Madly Peek A Boos and I am sure you will love them too! I used the “You” word on the top of my page, lace stripe behind other layers and amazingly stunning white doily, which I used as my title. If you are not sure how to attach a transparent elements – I usually stick them using liquid glue (just a few tiny drops) or double-sided transparent adhesive tape.

Mixing & Matching with Audrey Yeager

It feels like yesterday that I just received a box of Glitz goodies containing the Cashmere Dame, Yours Truly, and Hello Friend collections.  And then soon after, another wonderful box arrived that had Color Me Happy, Uncharted Waters, and Love You Madly.  Not to mention the stash of all the older lines I have, too!

So its time to put these collections together and MIX AND MATCH some of that old with the new!

I love the woodgrain print of the Color Me Happy collection, and I thought it matched nicely with some red from Happy Travels, and some pinks from Hello Friend and Love You Madly.

I cut the white heart of the paper and just left it like an open die cut.  You can see in the background I used the woodgrain Roller Doodle stamp and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

I layered a Glitzer sticker, a Giant Rhinestone, and some washi tape, each from a different collection!

A few little banner pieces, bits of garland, and some rows of machine stitching for texture.  There are 5 different collections just in this photo alone!  :)

Navy has been one of my favorite colors to work with lately.  I took a floral print from Uncharted Waters and found that some prints from Yours Truly and Beautiful Dreamer were perfect matches!

Again, some more stitching for texture and interest, and a Rhinestone just because….

I used some stencils and navy and teal colored inks for the flowers on the right side of the photo.  Some stickers layered and pop dotted off the page.  Items from Beautiful Dreamer, Yours Truly, Hello Friend, and Love You Madly!

And finally a stitched Peek-A-Boo with a layered sticker.  4 different collections here:

Mixing and matching is so much fun.  I literally pull out a whole bunch of things that will go together and then narrow down my choices until I get a good mix of collections, but that will work great together on a page!

Clusters of Old & New with Gerry Van Gent

Hello Glitz friends!
This is Gerry here today sharing with you two layouts
where I mixed Old & New Glitz Design collections.

My first layout is a happy, fun layout where I scrapped photos of
my kids. I matched here different collections and I love
the fact that they work altogether so well!

{Uncharted Waters} Paper Collection
{Yours Truly} Paper Collection
{Hello Friend} Glitzers
{Yours Truly} Peek-A-Boos

{Yours Truly} Whatnots
{French Kiss} Whatnots
{Hello Friend} Layered Stickers
{Yours Truly} Layered Stickers
{Cashmere Dame} Rubber Stamps
{Love you Madly} Giant Roller Doodle Chevron
I used different embellishments to decorate the photo.
The roses were part of the stickers.
“Hello Handsome” and “Hello beautiful” words were stamped.
I stamped the chevron pattern on a separate sheet of paper.
Then I cut it out and used it as embellishment.
My second layout is not my usual color combination but I love the
Stripe” pattern paper from “Uncharted Waters” collection
and I decided to use it as a base for my layout.
{Uncharted Waters} Paper Collection
{Hello Friend} Paper Collection
{Yours Truly} Paper Collection
{Color Me Happy} Paper Collection

{Yours Truly} Paper Collection
{Cashmere Dame} Title Stickers
{Hello Friend} Layered Stickers

{Color Me Happy} Giant Rhinestones
The butterflies were stamped and cut out.
The “awesome” word was cut from one of the stickers.
The phrase “You can never have too much happy” is part of
the “Chalkboard” pattern paper (Color Me Happy) collection.
It was cut out carefully and then separated in parts so I can decorate
part of the hand-stitched circle.
I also fussy cut flourishes from the pattern paper.
Thank you so much for visiting us today!
Have a Glitzy Day!

Mixed Sentiments with Laurie Schmidlin

Hello Glitz Fans!

Today I’m here to share with you two projects I’ve made mixing & matching new and old collections. You just need to distribute all the Glitz papers on your desk and start. You will have so much fun, I swear! :) Let’s see the projects I created just to inspire you all:

You are just so Beautiful!

In this page I mixed 3 collections! Yes, 3 collections: Beautiful Dreamer, Hello Friend and Love You Madly. The floral patterns on these collections caught my eye! I just wanted to cut and cut all the flowers.  After that I made clusters around the photo.
For the background I used a doily as a mask and a pink mist to ink all the paper. I loved the effect!

Everyday I love you more!

On this page I used mostly products from the newest collection Color Me Happy and some embellishments from Yours Truly and Love Games. How fun it was, because those 3 collections are so colorful. Let’s see:

Adding to Color Me Happy with Lea Lawson

Happy Monday, everyone!!  Welcome to a new inspiration week where we are going to be mixing the new collections with our older, but still fabulous, Glitz product!!

Today I have a couple cards to share with you using Color Me Happy as the base, but adding in some embellishments here & there from past collections.  I have been with Glitz Design since the very beginning, and I have never been able to part with any of my cardstock stickers, glitzers, teeny alphas, whatnots….the list could go on & on!  I am always pulling them down and looking through them to find that perfect accent that my card might have been missing….and I typically find it in my stash of Glitz more often than not!

My first card uses lots of Color Me Happy, and some cardstock stickers from other collections that matched it perfectly!  Here is what I created!

Call Me Maybe supplies:
Color Me Happy Paper – Bits & Pieces, Hearts
Color Me Happy Washi Tape -  Rainbow Stripe
Color Me Happy Rubber Stamps
Color Me Happy Paper Layers
Yours Truly Teeny Alphas – White
Laced With Grace Cardstock Stickers – Titles
Love Games Cardstock Stickers – Journaling
Hoopla Cardstock Stickers – Journaling

This next card is also mostly Color Me Happy, with the addition of a cardstock sticker & glitzer from past collections.  I also finished off the sentiment on the inside with some teeny alphas from a past collection.  Check it out!

Hi There Stranger card:
Color Me Happy Paper – Polka, Woodgrain, Bits & Pieces, Chalkboard
Color Me Happy Washi Tape – Rainbow Stripe
Color Me Happy Paper Layers
Yours Truly Teeny Alphas – Red
Cashmere Dame Glitzers
Dance In Sunshine Cardstock Stickers – Titles

I totally understand how much fun it is to use all the new goodies that this amazing company releases, but I also never want to forget how awesome everything else is that I have in my stash of Glitz product!!  Mixing & matching them is a great way to freshen up the old, and even better….a great way to get it all used up!!  There is too much Glitz fabulousness to let it go to waste!!

I hope that you’ve enjoyed my “Mixing Old with New” cards today!  Leave me a comment an let me know what you think of this week’s feature, and what you might like to see in the future!!

Until later,
~Lea
